The first thought I had was, why even require them to go to classes and act like it's even school anymore. Just make it a separate entity associated with the school. It's all a joke...international pros, G league, 6,7,8 years in college.
Amazing that something so pure as college students playing sports became a business run by greedy adults.
Maybe D2 & D3 still has it right.
They went to class…? LolThe first thought I had was, why even require them to go to classes and act like it's even school anymore. Just make it a separate entity associated with the school.

Or maybe even a certainty already happening.Back in the day, college basketball players like Roger Rowan, Tony Jackson & Connie Hawkins got caught up with associating with gamblers like Jack Molinas and paid a price. Others shaved points and usually the common issue was many of these guys did not have much $ in their pockets. In NIL era that is not the case and I believe more pervasive college player gambling is an accident waiting to happen.

You just had an NBA player making $25 million a year throw his career away over (to him) pocket change. Gambling addiction is a horrible disease which apparently knows no socio-economic bounds (totally agree with your observation re the guys you named, they needed a few bucks)Back in the day, college basketball players like Roger Rowan, Tony Jackson & Connie Hawkins got caught up with associating with gamblers like Jack Molinas and paid a price. I mean, I have observed many times that Rick will say literally anything and that you can't take much he says very seriously, but even I did not think for a millisecond that this was actually Rick.Just for context, this is not Rick but a fanboy of his.
