Around College Basketball

Alcindor trumps them all.
I am making a list and checking it twice.

SlyFoxx, Treasure Coast Johnny, Ralph, Beast, SSG. Section 9, you may have just volunteered (I could be bought off with bourbon, though).

There is gonna be a forum where folks who remember the 60s or earlier can post to their heart's content about THINGS THAT HAVING NOTHING TO DO WITH THE CURRENT THREAD.

FWIW re NCAA show cause

From google
“ they have one year to present a case to the NCAA demonstrating why they should not be subject to the original penalties. This allows for a period of review and potential mitigation before a final decision is made”

It is the biggest crock of nonsense in the world. Fordham self-reported it and even suspended Urgo 4 games this past year.

It was impremissble benefits such as taking recruits to a Mets game or US Open tennis, also taking photos in Times Sq and for that they vacated 2 yrs worth of wins including the 25 win season in 22-23.

I mean really, as Rob Dauster said back up PGs are getting million dollar NIL deals and you are going to throw the hammer at a school for taking recruits to the US Open....LOL...

I am not against enforcing the rules but give me a break. Urgo said he honestly did not know taking recruits to US Open was impermissible. He was fired anyway.

So put the school on probation for a year meaning they have to stay clean. Slap their compliance on the wrist maybe even take away a scholarship for a year.

But this is what the NCAA wants to make an example of....

To paraphrase Jerry Tarkanian, “The NCAA is so angry at the NIL, they are putting Fordhan on probation.”
Arkansas is next! Word is Calipari took Boogie Fland to visit a pig farm and processing plant where they make Jommy Dean sausages.
This is the real reason Cal and Boogie parted ways.
