Around College Basketball

I want Gonzaga to lose. I want St. Mary's to lose. I want bid thieves out the ass. I want anarchy and pandemonium. I want to see the scum that run the SEC and B!G pissed because of bid thieves.
Zags are one of those teams that the “fake” metrics LOVE. They are boosted by the tough schedule but they haven’t played nearly as well as previous years. They are like 8th in the NET. It’s really them or St. Mary’s for the auto bid. If St Mary’s wins I could easily see them putting Zags in. My guess is they are both in.

Root against Texas Tech and Clemson in B12 and ACC tourney. If either run the table and get big wins (vs Houston, vs Duke) could be in line for last #2.

Regardless, if we take care of our own business it shouldn’t matter.
Add A&M, Kentucky & Wisconsin to that list too.

I don't think they should be seeded over us but I've seen crazier things

Yup. But I think if Wisconsin wins, they might take MSUs spot. Kentucky SHOULD be too far back but like you said who knows

Only reason I don't dismiss A&M or Kentucky getting a two seed is because they have one bye instead of two in the SEC. They can bolster their resume a lot by winning the tournament since they can hypothetically beat a bubble team, then Tennessee or Alabama, then Auburn or Florida, and then either each other or another top 5 team.

Just can’t imagine 5 SEC teams in the top 8 seeds, and have yet to see one bracket with any of their current top 4 less than a 2 seed.

The way I see it there are 6 teams competing for the last two 2 seeds. The teams locked in to the 1/2 lines are Duke, Auburn, Florida, Houston, Alabama, and Tennessee.

That leaves us, Michigan State, Texas Tech, A&M, Wisconsin, and Kentucky with a realistic chance at the last two 2 seeds.

The thing is, the committee has shown that they essentially don't factor in the Saturday and Sunday games it regards to seeding. I think they lock the seeds in early Saturday and then the rest of their time is spent on contingencies for potential bid stealers for which there will still be the risk of going into Sunday. If Memphis makes the AAC championship game, which begins at 3:15 on Sunday, the committee will have to make two brackets - one for if they win and one that includes the bid stealer if they lose. They definitely won't be doing that in addition to adjusting the seeding based on the results of the SEC and B10 Champ games that also happen on Sunday afternoon.
