Around College Basketball 2019/20 Season
I just saw Moussa Cisse was reclassifying to 2020. That could be old news but figured it could move the discussion back to basketball. Cisse played at CTK for a couple of seasons. He is almost 7’0 with long arms and an incredible athlete. He is still a little rough on the offensive side but is an incredible shot blocker. I remember standing behind him and Kofi Cockburn before a game and boy did I feel small at 6’2 220. Makes me wonder how short people feel. J/K

P.S - looks like he will be attending one of the pay before you play schools but I figure those schools are paying a little less in this environment.
Not old news. Saw that this morning as well. He will announce his school next week and that will be even newer news.

Johnny Juzang has gotten a waiver to play this season at UCLA, source told @Stadium

This is one of, if not the fastest transfer waiver the NCAA has ever given, as the Juzang committed to UCLA on April 8th, and the NCAA made a rule less than two months later.

Moose probably right on other thread about likelihood of everyone getting waiver & then in January new regs will be adopted by NCAA

NCAA infamously favorable to UCLA. Despite their lack of significance for a long time they still have most favored nation status from the NCAA and they also are one of the highest paid institutions by the sneaker cartel which I seriously don't get.

Unfortunately I fear this is but the tip of the iceburg. Education is just way too expensive and the model with have to be revisited over the next few years.

Broward is a state funded school that has no revenue generating sports like UofF or FlaState. Eventually a sport will have to fund itself or be forced to find funds elsewhere. Football costs way too much to support at the majority of schools and state schools like Uconn need to take a closer look at supporting a sport bleeding money. Basketball is relatively cheap in comparison.

Obviously COVID19 throws a monkey wrench into things but I would not read too much into Juzang's waiver. Keep in mind he is literally going home as he lives in LA just a few miles from the UCLA campus and he had family issues. In other words he probably would have gotten the waiver without a pandemic going on.

While it is obviously a very quick decision based off of the NCAA’s track record, it doesn’t surprise me that he got this waiver. As you mentioned he is going back home and Calipari is known to push these things along helping his old players get these waivers (unlike Dunn’s situation last season).

That's rough. Don't have a list in front of me, but feel like they've put a lot of kids in D-1, and probably some pretty good ones.

I thought maybe St johns would reach out as they have the 1 scholarship left. Obviously because of the ties to his brother. I guess w/ posh coming in there was no need for another pg to come in.

I am very happy for him. This is the sport he prefers and he has a chance to play it and at a great school academically.

No need for another 4 year player at his position. Plus I'd question if he's a BE or even P12 player.
