Around College Basketball 2019/20 Season

The CBI, a postseason tourney of teams that don’t make the NCAA tournament or the NIT, has been canceled due to the Coronavirus.

The governor of Ohio further clarified: The state will issue an order that NCAA tournament games in Ohio, which included the First Four in Dayton, will be played without spectators.

Assuming that trend holds I should not count on traveling to Albany to watch the second round Regional games.

Finally some positive Coronavirus news!

This guarantees that CMA at a minimum will either A. make the NIT (with a potential losing record) or B. finish .500 or better. It was unlikely but possible that we'd accept an invitation to the CBI like DePaul did last year.

How can CMA have a losing record?

Losing BET and NIT game without winning another.

From Rothstein - First 4 games will be w/out fans -

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has told reporters that there will soon be an order for no mass gatherings in Ohio, which includes the First Four in Dayton and the NCAA Tournament in Cleveland.

Mark Emmert says that no fans will be allowed at NCAA tourney games, only “essential staff and limited family attendance.”

UNC blown out by Syracuse. Their season ends at 14-19. First losing season for Roy Williams. That leaves Mark Few, Tom Izzo, and Mike Anderson as the only coaches without a losing season, and 15+ years experience (well, Jim Boeheim too, but the NCAA doesn't recognize him).

Consistent winning is a huge thing. Mike Anderson has been at it a long time. This is the best play despite lack of talent, that I’ve seen from SJU in my time as a fan. Just need more talent and I hope talented kids see the level of improvement he gets out of players.

Committee will probably make them a 15 seed.
