Around College Basketball 2019/20 Season

The NCAA has ruled Memphis F/C James Wiseman -- the possible No. 1 overall pick in 2020 NBA Draft -- ineligible, his lawyers said in Memphis.

Btw, Cisse, big from CTK, also moved to Memphis & considering playing for Hardaway when he graduates evidently.[/quote]

Thought Wiseman was hurt? lol. Cisse must be 22 already.

Wiseman’s lawyer told reporters that NCAA alleges Hardaway paid “thousands” of dollars in moving expenses when Wiseman moved from Nashville to Memphis in high school. Lawyer also said that Wiseman is now suing the NCAA.

Per Jason Munz

BREAKING: Attorney says Shelby County judicial court judge just ruled to put a hold on NCAA's ineligibility ruling. pending further litigation.

James Wiseman can play tonight.

This according to @mgiannott

If Hardaway paid those expenses, what is his penalty?

I like this move by Memphis only because it is basically direct defiance by a school using other means to attack and circumvent the NCAA. The kid plays anyway. They fight them in local court drag it out until the NCAA gives in. Which is what I said St John's should do with Rasheem. Makes more sense for Memphis because they can recruit and win big, rebuild their program fast, and ask forgiveness later.
Meanwhile the NCAA is looking for a logical compromise to figure out how to screw poor kids and smaller schools without affecting the #1 NBA draft pick.

As I mentioned before.
I don't know if it's possible, but could the smaller conferences all come together, and have a class action suit against the NCAA. We all know they take care of the big conf schools, but shit on the smaller schools.

Pitt just lost to Nicholls St! This was after beating FSU.

This Illinois-Arizona game is really fun even though it's still the first half. Illini playing them very tough in Tucson. Cockburn looking like a grown man out there. Not sure how he factors into the modern NBA but he's going to be a good college player.

My first time watching the much hyped Nico Mannion and he's pretty freaking good. Quick, can score, elite passer. Hopefully we can make it a game when we go out there next month.

Noticed Ighieon a former Johnny big recruit, is like many frosh paying his dues & learning. He has been getting about 5 minutes a game while former SJU transfer big man target, Steve Enoch, is really getting it done at Louisville. Experience counts. As an aside, obviously early, but Champagnie’s learning curve seems on right arc. Appears to be a very heady player with nice upside.

My nephew played a few years on the AAU circuit with the brothers, he loves this kid. Tell me he does all the little things, not as gifted offensively as his brother but part heady player. Nice 4 years glue guy.

Kofi Cockburn averaging 14 ppg and 11.7 rbds through 3 games, although Illini got destroyed by Arizona last night.

Will be fun to follow progress of Johnny Julian and Panther Justin for comparative purposes. Julian may finally have his chance to shine now that he is out of the shadow of his brother.

Winthrop a 19 point dog beats ranked St Mary’s. Take everyone seriously.
