He apparently told Zags. He can recruit and use his his iPhone as a command post with his coaching staff. Recruiting does not tax his stamina, the way sideline coaching does. So I guess the is going to do ot this way until he feels like he is over the hurdle of stamina loss. he told Zags SJU will add 5 new recruits during the spring signing period.

Another PF, 6-7 senior Ricardo Gathers of returning Reserve (La.) Riverside Academy, had verbally committed to St. John’s in July, but tossed that aside in November. That left the field wide open for the likes of LSU, Syracuse and (believe it or not) St. John’s.
“At this point in time it's a re-evaluation thing,” Greg Gathers, Ricardo’s brother, told ESPN.com. “With the Big East kind of dismantling and everything he's wondering where the Big East is going to be at.”
So Gathers is worried about the Big East, but he added Syr. to his list-yeah that makes sense. Somehow I don't think
he's worried about the BE-but that is coming from his brother supposedly. I hope we land him as we sure could use his heft and ability-with Lavin back on the recruiting trail I think we have a pretty good shot with him.

Big east hasn't done any dismantling. Big East just swapped some programs. Gathers has nothing to worry aout with the big east for the remainder of his career. Cuse, WVU and Pitt will be here the next few seasons and then replaced by UCF, Houston and SMU. Big East still has a ton of top excellent programs here. None of those things will prevent SJU from playing a top notch conference and OOC schedule for Gathers career and down the line. From Gathers brother's quotes from big east "dismantling" to questioning Lavin's health effecting the rest of his career here, it is entirely obvious that there is another conference foe in his family's ear. Hopefully Lavin can overcome these fools trying to use negative recruiting to sway him from SJU.
Vitoria's Secret hasn't done any dismantling, They just swapped some models. Giselle Bündchen, Alessandra Ambrosio, and Marisa Miller will just be replaced by Totie Fields, Phyllis Diller, and Kathy Bates. Nothing to worry about. Same fine quality swimwear and they still have that nice glossy catalogue. Hardly a dismantling.
Look at our schedule this year. We played Kentucky ( albeit because of the big east sec thing ) we play Duke and we play UCLA.. By losing the 3 big east teams we already know Cuse wants to keep playing us.
So basically we lose Pitt and WV. It's a loss but to me at least it's not that big a deal. The ACC sucks except for a couple of teams.
With our team on the rise in a couple of years the and if the Big East stays together as is we will be sending many teams each year still relative to other conferences to the NCAA tourney
Just yet being the operative phrase. When the rest of the football teams leave, and thats sooner rather then later, then it'll be dismantled. Arising from the ashes like a phoenix will be a third rate basketball only conference featuring perennial superpowers like Richmond and Seton Hall. I can't believe Gathers doesn't want to tether himself to that rosy future. Another selfish coward like Lindsey. Good riddance.
