I think yakwes problem last year was mental. He’s seems to be getting his confidence back and a Productive Yakwe along w Owens and Clark is going to help us tremendously.
 

Yes we got the win but we did not play that well PONDS DID REALLY WELL EXCEPT shooting the 3 A big guy can really hurt us
 
Great to see us pull out a win when we didn't have our "A" game
This team clearly has a lot of resolve
We weren't playing well and were down by 10 in the second half but never gave up
I was also impressed with Mullin - he is much more active on the sidelines this year
A game we certainly would have lost last year but a more mature team found a way to get it done

As others have said, definitely NOT a game we would've won last year. Did we have any games where we rallied by 10 down late in the second half last year?

Was following the game during Thanksgiving dinner and when we were down 10 I got frustrated and stopped checking. Was shocked to see we won.

Went into the tournament wanting at least 2/3. A win vs Missouri would make this an outstanding start to the season regardless of what happens during the last game.

I'd say as long as we go 10-3 OOC, we're in good shape. 5-3 the rest of the way seems very doable.

Considering we started last year 2-5, this is an amazing start.

This year’s StJohn’s team should not be confused with last year’s inexperienced team.

FYI, Kenpom projects St.John’s as the favorite in the next 7 games including a 60% probability of defeating Missouri. Encouraging.
 
I'll take the win. Team is showing resilience. However, still too many wild shots that have no chance. Still too many wide open looks from 3 for the opposition. This was a game we should/need to win. We got the W. After watching some of Mizzou game they will be a better test. Again, with out Porter this needs to be a win. Let's take advantage. Go SJU!
