Mjmaher, I don’t recall seeing your posts you refer to but, I would say this , I don’t agree with a overall Assessment on Mullin and Staff that has hijacked this Board and a lot of JJ too. I do recall a seemingly continual commentary from you , last year and this about Mullin sitting on the Scorer’s table or not wearing a tie . More importantly and I admit to this , anyone who remotely supports any posts here or there that come from Dinkins gets my disapproval . He is as bad as Fun in his prime and gets no admonishment , other than the occasional censure which he admits to , in spewing forth the most insulting personal statements for years and years and years . Attributing guilt by association to anyone remotely agreeing with anything he says is probably a failing of mine and I should not lump people together for supporting his crap . If I inappropriately placed you in that category , I withdraw your name from that negative commentary . But, I do perceive you as a non supporter of the Mullin era and that is your opinion to post . The most important thing looking to next season is Ponds , Simon and Clarke ! Anyone and everyone else plays a supporting role . One would think losing Owens and Yakwe are taking BE All Stars from our lineup according to some posters . That is laughable . Touting Mike Rice as a savior for our Coaching Staff is another joke . He failed at Rutgers for a host of reasons and why that would qualify him for anything here is beyond comprehension . Why take a chance ? No one else has in 4 Years ! But, back to your post . If I offended you , it was in a moment of thoughtlessness on my part . I only respond in kind to the one Idiot on here that always takes the cheap personal shot . And, of the 11 game slide in January , possibly 3 and more likely 4 could have been Wins , as they were closely contested , except PC and the first DePaul game . We were close to beating Nova in the Garden, should have had 2 wins against Gtown , but Yakwe snipped that . Xavier at home was close too . Both , Hall games could have easily gone either way . Alas , they did not but, if we went 8-10 in the BE in essentially Mullins 2nd season and had a over 500 overall record , would all the negativity remain . Mullin secured Ponds , Simon and Clarke coming here , which was no small accomplishment . He had planned on a Lovett - Ponds backcourt duo that would have given fits to opponents and likely been the most heralded pair in College B.B. last season . How do you account for a player quitting mid season on his teammates . And , how much bitching do we hear from Ponds, Simon or Clarke ? None ! They believe in Mullin and the Staff even if some fans don’t .
Again you are wrong so you might as well not mention my name again ever. I wasn’t harping on the scorers table last year because it was year one where he was doing it a lot. Actually last year I wasn’t really negative either so show me all my posts from last year going crazy about the scorers table. Other posters already told you that you are wrong about my being negative all the time. Do I get negative at times? Absolutely! Especially in regards to the recruiting situation with lack of multiple assistants recruiting actively. But I don’t post negativity incessantly and I click like on Dinkins posts and a hell of a lot of other posters when they write something I I might agree with or make me laugh or even when I don’t agree with but they make a good point that I might not have thought of. So do the world a favor and don’t mention me ever again unless you want to respond to one of my actual posts which I don’t mind at all
Only responding because whenever I get shit on redmen.com, Mike is almost always one of the first or only to jump in to defend me. He is an all around good guy, a crazy good SJU fan, and someone who is nearly always friendliest guy on here to everyone. While I do believe some of this anti Mullin stuff is way over the top, Mike is by no means in that camp. All in all, he's one of the best things about redmen.com
