AD Chris Monasch OUT from SJU?

Perhaps Monasch left because he wanted Lavin out and was overruled. How would you feel about him then?

Can't imagine Monasch having enough energy or moxie to express an opinion about Lavin or anything else.

A new AD is just going to be a puppet if he/she doesn't have the power to make a change with the basketball program. I certainly wouldn't want the job if it meant there were untouchables, and I imagine a long extension makes Lavin untouchable for a couple years.

I vote for Mike Repole for the next AD. Hopefully he would be able to handle the pay cut!! :)

I think he's the one who wants Mas, so a lot of posters may vote against his candidacy.

I honestly would go to Stanford's AD website, and call whomever is second or third in command.

my friend used to be the ceo of hollywood tans. I can probably get him a good job there

Has Jayon been right about one thing since the mutiny of last March? Time to send that guy out to pasture as an insider.

Anyone who knows me knows that I have been a critic of Monasch for quite some time. I'm not going to get into my reasons why, but it's fair to say that others on here have expressed similar criticisms with reasons similar to mine. Losing your job is never a good thing. Whether we like him or not, he is a St. John's alum. It will be interesting to see if he'll be re-assigned similar to what Syracuse recently did with their AD.

It is sad to see someone lose their job. Maybe SJU can create a Tanning Department and reassign him as Chairman. :)

I must say, I have no idea what Chris Monasch does, nor have I ever met or spoken to him. I did not vote in the poll to fire him. I can't even see the results because, until I cast a vote, the results of the polls have not shown on my ipad. That being said, I really have no complaints about the athletic department as a whole. The only egregious mistakes I can point to are the Norm hiring (one that I supported for a long time---so who am I to criticize him for it); and the crappy, half-assed renovation of CA. And for that, I don't even know if he is responsible.

I agree with NYCRedmen, it is never good to see someone lose their job. I wish him the best.

I nominate Desco and Marillac to co share the AD roles. Both lawyers. Desco can lead by example since he dresses well. Marillac coached juco and is just a little bit crazy enough to keep us entertained as he sits at the scorer table at games while desco throws stuff around the office

From what I understand Lavin does not take his marching orders from AD.

So who controlls him, the president? Please tell me that he doesn't run wild.

Maybe that's the delay. Lavin is negotiating his new contract with himself. Both sides are overly loquacious.
