A List of Things That Have Happened to this Program in the Last 10 Years

when we thought Jarvis was going to the Wizards, but he turned them down. At the time, no one was upset about that, myself included.

No one is a relative term I guess.
Yes, but most of us were happy at the time.

Jarvis was 53-17 his first two years here, and had what many thought would be a powerhouse recruiting class coming in. Only after that, did things start to go downhill here, for him.
True. It was after the following year I wanted him gone. Saw that the Riverside team coached themselves.
I actually didn't get down on him until year 5, when he refused to suspend Grady Reynolds, after he got arrested for that incident with the swimmer.

I still remember the full comment: "I know he (Grady) didn't do this, so why should I suspend him?" I said right there, that unless Grady was proved to be totally not guilty, that Jarvis should have been fired for that comment (I think he took a plea bargin, IIRC).

I believe Jarvis deserved to be fired - he had already pissed off all the local coaches, basically stopped recruiting HS kids and took nothing but questionable JUCOs. He left Norm with Darryl Hill and Lamont Hamilton and nothing else. Terrible, especially considering the full cupboard Jarvis inherited from Fran.

However, looking back on his tenure with some hindsight, he was a better head coach than I gave him credit for at the time. Getting that 2001-2002 team to 20 wins and a berth in the tournament, with Marcus Hatten and a bunch of misfit toys, was a good coaching job.

I thought he coached one side of the ball, defense, very effectively. He had issues with offense. A lot of what we've seen in blowing these second-half leads were very Jarvis-esque, offensively, except his teams (after the first 2 years) did it all game long. Fortunately, we had Hatten to make up for a lot of those weaknesses.

1. The most talented player to come through the program in a decade was convicted of attempted murder and severed several years in jail.

I don't pay much attention to the NBA, but Jesus things really went downhill for Moe Harkless, didn't they?

When I hear various outlets describe the trade some don't even mention Mo just the number one draft pick and some mention "and for the expiring contract of Mo Harkless".
