A fan rant

This is not my rant but interested how you guys feel about it. I see some valid points but also a bit of exaggeration.

I'm sorry. Chris was hired in March. We have a six-man rotation again as he drives more people away than ISIS:

Jordan
Obepka
Both Delarosas
Sampson
Doughty
Barnes-Thompkins
Henderson
Stewart

Fill out the staff already. You are waiting 3 months for Ed Pinckney let alone a director of basketball operations. Allen Iverson voice: Ed Pinckney?!

And then Pinckney says NO?!

We have NO bench coach. Chris hasn't coached. Matt was a team manager for Norm and a video coordinator for Hoiberg. Barry was 52-70 at Manhattan.

Who have we signed? LoVett? He was coming for Lavin, too. We lost Sampson. Mussini and Papagiannis were being recruited by the former staff so if they come, it is the same situation as LoVett.

Barnes-Thompkins went to BC. Doughty went to VCU. They are the equal to Ellison.

The Spanish center is 170 lbs. Williams is coming off of surgeries to both shoulders and hasn't played in a year; Mvouika is coming off back surgery; Johnson is coming back from a year suspension for drugs! Oh, and I forgot the Tennessee transfer who is sitting out this year averaging a big 1 point and 1 rebound a game in the SEC!

Chris has publicly stated he doesn't know the NCAA rules, is making bets on the radio with Craig Carton and publicly says he didn't think he would like watching HS kids play.

We have a school lead by a president who was never a president; no AD; and a head coach who has never coached.

Chris chirped about NYC kids and throwing a blanket over the metro areas. But, thankfully, he has the same national and international recruiting strategy we had already in place!

Let's call BULLSHIT. Chris knew he and D'Alesandaro were getting fired from Sacramento because Divac took over. And he knew he couldn't get an NBA job again after he bombed at Golden State and Sacramento. Even Jim Fucking Dolan wanted no part of him!!!!

So he backdoored Lav.

This is a 10-win team at best. Wtf?! There. I feel better.

I'm still waiting for Mr. Google to share his name. No one else here posts under anonymity.

Ex employees make the worst posters.

So Google, we see you are still following Lavin's Twitter account.

It may not be your rant, but you dedicated an entire new thread to it because some of it obviously resonated with you.

Anyone that has to "rant" about coach before he coaches his first game is not a reasonable fan and most likely not a reasonable person.

Wow, lost a lot of respect for Mr Google. Didn't realize he was someone bitter towards the program. Good riddance.

ex-SJU coach Lavin and his minions attempting to sabotage the program by spreading UNTRUE rumors regarding the eligibility of two key recruits Coach Mullin has brought in to help rebuild the program that ex-SJU coach Lavin ran into the ground.

Thankfully the information is completely erroneous and unlike the prediction of 10 wins next season by the original poster, i think that we will get more god news to finish out the 2015 recruiting class and surprise many people next year when we put out a team that is very competitive.

I am either 3 months behind in time or 9 months ahead-thought it was July 1 not April 1 (April Fools Day). Change MrGoogle to MrFool!

Wow what the heck is this?

First of all, I'm not sure how mullin "drove away" Sampson. He did his best but brandon wanted to go to LSU. Unless mullin went out and partied with Jordan or perhaps drove him back to Philly I don't know how it's his fault Jordan's grades sucked. But yet you insinuate he drove him out too?

You sound angry we won't be that good next year. But honestly, what did you expect? Next year was destined to be a rebuilding one not because of Mullins lack of recruiting, but because of Lavins. Mullin has given it his all on the trail, so ranting and acting like he hasn't done enough is BS. Looking at the amount of visits we have had from good players local and non local gets any fan excited. To fault mullin for not putting together a tournament team is so stupid.

MrGoogle, your post reads as someone whose trying to convince everyone that letting Lavin go was a mistake. That we should rethink letting him go.

I haven't thought about Lavin once since he was fired. We now have a coach working his tail off on the recruiting trail and we have a coach that understands the importance of local ties, and he most importantly understands New York fans and how they want to see results.

Get your negativity in now. We are gonna be loaded in 2 years.

Assuming Lavin is behind these rumors (and assuming these rumors are false), what exactly does Lavin gain by doing this?

It's an absurd thing to even theorize. Lavin went out with class, and has publicly said some very nice things about Mullin. I even got a message from him where he stated he thinks Mullin will do a great job and was a great hire.

Double agent? :)

Comical. This is not my rant as mentioned on top of the post. Sole purpose of me posting is to engage in a conversation. It's clear there is few people that liked Lavin and there is some that no matter what happens at SJU will spin it as negative.
Only thing I do agree with the rant is a major need of a solid assistant coach and experienced AD that can bring in the funds.
If it was up to me i would rather have Mullin as AD (NBA office experience) and bring in one of the Hurley brothers as head coach. Latter on if the experiment did not work out transition Mullin from AD to head coach. But I respect the choice and support him and wish the program nothing but the best.

Lavin's name did bring our program into the spotlight after Norm but, it was clear that he is NOT a good coach after few seasons. I have stories about Lavin that would make your head spin. He certainly needed to go.

One more thing about new AD. I hope that he cleans house. I am talking about a serious clean up within the athletic administration. There is few cancers that need to go. For example, administrator that was responsible for coach Darby is still around. My opinion, he should of been gone with AD.

To be clear, I'm not theorizing it, just responding to Avon's post.

Now put yourself to good use and tell us the Lavin stories.

This is not my response, but someone mentioned how irritating it is for you to keep writing "there is few." The sole purpose of posting this is to spark conversation.

The only way you can redeem yourself is with (a) good Lavin stories or (b) some positive info.
