7pm Sunday Night Games at MSG.

In general, our student fan base is apathetic no matter what the tip off time.

I ran into a kid after the Nova game, a son of a friend of mine. He's now a freshman at Nova, and is a huge SJU fan. I playfully gave him crap last year for him telling me he would probably root for Nova vs. SJU while he was a student. I asked him if he's been to any games this year for Nova at home. He said "Every single one at the Pavillion". I really can't understand why CA at least, being on campus, isn't crammed to the rafters with students. Most of us went to school there. Is there something that awesome on campus that would top going to a game? Or is it just a generation that would rather be on Facebook and the internet than venture out and watch an activity that brings more school spirit than any single other thing. I can't believe that because other top schools have no problem attracting kids to games. I'll tell you one thing - the school had better be keeping track of which students are coming to games now, because they deserve in priority order access to any tough ticket in the future before those who just jump on the bandwagon.

Our guys vs. player of the year at MSG. If we shread'em, PT Sunday night might be a good place for it to be seen.

I just realized I have meetings at 8am out east on monday. ughhh

It's going to be a run out of msg and head right home kind of night.

Next sunday will be fun though with having off the next day

I do think it's a generational thing, at least in part. College sports attendance in general has been trending down.
One way to buck that trend is to win games and create a buzz --something we obviously haven't done on any consistent basis.

A few years ago, the ACC had Sunday night games that usually started at seven. I am not thrilled about it either but should be in the house.

The Rangers normally play Sunday nights at MSG. I wonder if them being on Olympic break has anything to do with our 2 sunday night games. Personally I love the 7 PM Sunday start because it doesn't kill the entire day. Also, how is a 7PM start on a Sunday any different than a 7PM start on any weekday in terms of having to wake up the next morning?

For me at least there is nothing worse than waking up on a monday morning exhausted. Feels like I'm playing catch up at work the entire week

As another poster said, the Fox decision to have a Sunday 7 pm game is to compete with ACC/ESPN, which historically has had Sunday evening games.

I don't recall those ACC games on ESPN. They were actually on Fox Sports Net if I remember correctly ironically.

I actually like the Sunday 7pm games, and prefer them to 11am, 12pm or 1pm games(this won't kill my entire day). Ideally I would prefer Saturday 7 or 8pm at MSG, but I understand the scheduling challenges. These games give me an opportunity to sleep in and go to dinner or happy hour before tip-off. If your really concerned about getting home late - Drive IN! Traffic shouldn't be that bad going in, and will be non-existent on the way back.

I have been thinking that SJU should sell a limited amount of tix on Stub Hub to each game they are not selling well (I know the Mets and Islanders do this). They could offer the tix at a lower price to where it actually creates demand, and puts buts in seats. Most us us have season tix or at least a package where prices are reasonable. But $65 for a lot of casual fans is too much for one game. If they could sell some tix at like $20 or $25 on Stub Hub I think a lot more people would go. They would not even have to disclose who's selling the tix it(the Mets and Isles don't). Its worth a shot.

I've only seen them sporadically on Groupon for MSG this year was still $37 a tix. That is a good start but, groupon offers can expire well in advance of the event (we aren't offering any deals now). I think Stub Hub would be another good outlet especially for the guys who don't decide to go till the last 48 hours.

I think it would be nice if SJU offered season ticket holders a discount to bring additional family or friends within 72 hours of gametime. maybe a 50% discount. At least then we wouldn't feel screwed when others who aren't season ticket holder end up in better seats for less money than we paid.

If St. John's flooded the secondary market with tickets I would have to get rid of my season tickets. I sell the MSG games I can't go to and even for bad games I make a pretty decent chunk of change back. I've sold the Fordham and Marquette games and have made $450 on them for my 2 seats.

How much did you get for the Fordham game? I mean I understand getting some coin for the Marquette game since it was a good doubleheader.

30 for Fordham and 195 for Marquette.
