2025 Portal

Sac State is pouring money into their athletic department. They may have a JMU type meteoric rise. (They are also gunning to be the 8th team in the Pac-8/10/12). I always like these types of stories. I hope it works out for them and Sacramento State Gardner!
The Kings regularly sell out Golden One arena and AAA River Cats draw decent crowds at their 9,000 seat stadium in West Sacramento, but Sac State has never drawn decent crowds for basketball or football. Possibly Mike Bibby can create some excitement because he was a popular player when he was with the Kings.

No longer see a 25-26 roster thread so guessing this is the best place to post this (mods please move if needed).

247sports re-ranked today and Odin moved up to #65 (10 spots higher).

While there, I was looking at our top all time recruits in the 247 era. #1 is Sim Wilcher at .9869 and #2 is Rysheed Jordan at .9806

Three recruits this year out of high school would eclipse that.

Dillon Mitchell - .9983
Ian Jackson - .9970
Joson Sanon - .9914

Bryce Hopkins just missed at .9857

That's the difference between you and me, I'm never satisfied.

Yeah, it's ok for the blue bloods to get as many top players as possible, but ohhh God forbid SJU does the same, who do they think they are, right.

Well I hope SJU get Boogie, and to whoever doesn't like it, well that's to freaking bad.

Damn wish I had 20billion, I'd give Rick 100million and tell him to get 15 stars on this team, let the complainers complain.

The more, the merrier baby.
I bet this is your favorite song? 😂👍

At this point, any player who drops out of the draft because they are mocked in the second round, is going to a big time school for a handsome NIL.

The point here is once again, that profile fits SJU. Fland was going to follow Calipari out of high school no matter what (he followed him to Arkansas).

Now Calipari has essentially replaced him, and Fland will be a college FA if he decides to come back to school, since he is also in the portal (think RJ here).

If we have learned anything from the transfer portal, not being recruited by a coach mean very little.
I agree that those players have nothing to lo$e and everything to gain in this new paradigm. However, only a select handful of schools will be competitive in that scenario.

And they laughed at me when I said Boogie Fland should get his own thread. 17 pages later and WHO'S LAUGHING NOW, HUH??
I can’t believe we have this many pages and based on some of the stuff that has been posted on the first 17 pages, a lot of wasted ink IMHO.

Someone please PM me and let me know when there is actual Boogie news (not the so-called updates on Mock Drafts, if and then who said Boogie guarantees us a National Championship and all the other stuff that has been going on in this thread). Until then, as of Page 17, I’m out on this thread.

So the reputable scribe who posted he was pulling out of draft jumped the gun?

This week should bring quite a bit of clarity. Wasserman uses sources for all of his mocks.

#39: "Size: 6'2", 175 lbs

Age: 18

Nationality: USA

Pro Comparisons: Bones Hyland

Boogie Fland made an admirable return for the NCAA tournament after missing the last two months. It didn't go well—he shot a combined 4-of-18 in three games and only played nine minutes against Texas Tech.

He wasn't convincing enough this year to sell teams on a starting NBA point guard. The size and athleticism questions popped up too much whenever he was driving or trying to finish.

But his ball-handling and shiftiness for creation and playmaking, and his reliable shotmaking, do paint him as an attractive scoring/playmaking spark for NBA teams to think of for instant offense off the bench"

Nets should grab him in the second round and give him 3 years. I still think he's going to be a very decent Pro.
The 6'6" wingspan is very helpful for him. I am not sure Boogie will want to be taken in the 2nd round with less guaranteed money and have to play in front of 50 people in Nassau, instead of get paid more money and play in more exciting games.

Wasserman comparing him to Bones Hyland scared me and if is what scouts think of him, that's not great.

Fwiw, some people on the discord who have been steadfast about us being interested in Boogie have said we aren't. Trilly himself said he'd b shocked. So maybe 19 pages for nothing, but it has been a fun ride. :( :ROFLMAO:

You said it, what a waste…..still have no clue why we wouldn’t have interest for all the reasons we have discussed but I have moved on until if or when there is real news with him and coming back to college. If we truly have no interest, I hope the kid excels this week at the combine and gets drafted (same for RJ).

Maybe he has no interest in playing with us?
