Quinnapiac is not a bad team. We were just that much better. We outsized them and have more talent on the floor and the bench. CRP had our guys out hustling them under the boards as well.

It’s a good strategy to play other top teams . Winning or losing games against other ranked opponents won’t hurt Bama, come tourney time
Plus , they will have played tougher competition ,teams they will see in March Madness
I believe Bethune Cookman almost beat Auburn the other night
Think it was 95-90 but , might be mistaken .
When you play Alabama the 2nd game of the season Iowa State and Baylor the 5th and 6th games and Ole Miss and Kentucky within the first 10 roughly any whining about an early season opponent should get your computer and phone taken away till April
I agree! And that's not even mentioning that our 3rd game at the players era tourney could be a heavyweight as well
Yeah losing a HOF coach never works out... We will see how it goes. I hope Richard Pitino works out at Xavier so he looks like a good hire when Rick is gone
Pitino is going to be like General Patton or George C Scott as Patton fighting us through the early part of the season which could be harder than our NCAA run. For us overweight Redfans the “ battle of the bulge “ still a fitting name

I did the same...1994 Rangers about to win the cup and I got stuck at a Bar Mitzvah. Radio in breast pocket...etc. I didn't get caught, but my wife was pissed. I don't remember who got Bar Mitzvahed, but I'll always remember the game. There's that.That reminds me of the time in the late 90's when we were in the Tournament and my wife bought tickets for The Wiz when it opened on Broadway. I had an am transistor radio in my breast pocket and a headphone wire running down my sleeve so that I could just put my hand up to my ear to listen to the game. I got caught during the second act because I kept my hand on my ear for the entire show!

Hey hey, cookman took Auburn to OT.
I was not knocking bethune cookman. I was just pointing out them as one of other lesser conference/mid majors and you questioned the benefit of us playing quinnipiac but seem to be ok with auburn having bethune on their schedule and almost losing to them.
They are also favored to win the swac conference. So we crushed a preseason favorite to win their conference but auburn had a scare. Time will tell how quinnipiac fares and lets sure hope they win their conference.

what is your point exactly? Our non conference slate is not 12 straight blue bloods, is that a problem for you?
It isn't even close to a problem for me. Our goal is to be as high a seed as possible in the big dance right?
Our schedule was significantly weaker last season and we still managed to be a #2 seed in our preferred location. The schedule we have now is strong enough that the team has the opportunity to go out, win games, and battle to be that 1-2 seed that goes to Philly. In fact one could make the argument that there is a 1 seed in the NCAA tournament with a Big East team's name already on it, the next 4 months are going to decide if it is UConn or St. John's
If they lose say four of the five it'll hurt them if they are borderline in March. I don't think they will be but you never know.
Man I dont wanna keep commenting on this thread and probably should create a new thread but...... Quinnipiac preseason top in conference. William and Mary and bucknell 4-5 in theirs and Harvard number 2 in the ivy.

Denver rebuilding and picked toward bottom of their conference.
Check out Duke schedule. They got some too.
Not sure why you seem to be complaining about this when we have a heck of an out of conference schedule with pretty good mid majors we are playing.

We don't know what your point is. See UCONN's schedule - their five games against non high major opponents are weaker than ours. Florida's OOC schedule includes North Florida, Merrimack, Saint Francis, Colgate, Dartmouth & George Washington.
This is the strongest OOC schedule the Johnnies have had that I can recall.
