2025-2026 Schedule

That's a big gap between Vegas and Ole Miss. Then it's a week between Ole Miss and Iona, and a week in between Iona and Kentucky. 2 games in a span of 23 days (from the day after Vegas, to the day before Kentucky). Going to be tough to get in a groove that way.

Also, no true road game, again. I always believe you should have at least 1 before conference season. I know we got away with that last year, but our first road game was Providence, and that was the worst first half we played, probably all season.

I would expect at least 2 conference games in December. Last year we had 3. In 2022-23 we had 4 conference games in December.

It’s a better schedule than any year.
It is, but unless we go close to winning out all the tough games, I’m not sure it’ll be enough to be compensate for another down Big East to compete for a number one seed.

For context, Torvik’s preseason analytics has us playing three top 25 teams OOC — Kentucky #14, Iowa State #15, and Alabama #18. Baylor is #34, Ole Miss #40. We’re #8.

UConn’s top OOC teams:
BYU - #6
Florida - #5
Kansas - #17
Arizona - #12
Illinois - #7
Texas - #36

I really think we can use one more big opponent

My comment was strictly about our schedule history. UConn’s or anyone elses schedule doesn’t change that. We just have to take care of our own business and we certainly have the personnel to do that. Can’t worry if the conference has a down year. Which may or may not happen.

We were a 2 seed last year and our best OOC win was New Mexico lol

The schedule is great. It’s on us to win games and finish ahead of UConn and we will 100% be in the mix for a 1 seed if that happens

From 2017 through 2022 Gonzaga was a 1 seed 4 times in 5 years, and they're in an actual mid-major conference. They were also projected to be a 1 seed during the COVID year, so make that 5 times in 6 years. The OOC schedule is great as it is, St. John's has as good a chance as just about anyone to get a 1 seed.

We also have 5-6 combined games against Uconn and Creighton. Uconn could win it all and I think Creighton is a top 10 team. Big East will be more top heavy than Dolly Parton carrying a tray of beers.

no true road game last year also - although - you can argue that the game on 12/20 vs Kentucky in Atlanta will essentially be a road game with 90% UK fans
