2025-2026 Schedule

We'll get to see one time Johnnie commit Yaxel Lendeborg who has a chance to be preseason all american as well
If someone wouldn't mind, I'm curious:
I can't keep all the recruits straight in my head anymore... did he de-committ once Pitino took over?
i.e. was it St. John's rejecting him, or him rejecting St. John's?
Thanks in advance.

Staff didn’t show interest. They apparently never worked him out

Probably a safe assumption that Anderson's guys weren't good enough. Turns out there was quite a bit of talent.
I said during Anderson's last year, that if you held a dispersal draft of that team (which is essentially what happened after that year), that the schools that took our guys would be satisfied with their selections.

However, having these guys on the same team was courting disaster. Posh and Cuerbelo were too similar. So were Mathis and Wusu. That's just two combinations that come to mind. There were probably others.

Throw in the coach's philosophy on how to disperse playing time (part of his perceived general disinterest on the offensive side of ball), and it's easy to see why that year fell apart.

Actually, I have concerns about this year's team being too similar, but those were concerns about Rick's 95-96 Kentucky team, as well, and we know how that turned out.

Not saying we'll reach those heights, but I'm confident he'll figure it out.

I'd say a big difference with this team is its easier to figure out duplicative styles of players if they are good jump shooters. None of those guys can shoot!

Staff called Yaxel a few days after the Pitino press conference but obviously made the decision to go in another direction. Unfortunate for sure, would have loved to see him next to Zuby in a Pitino defense focused system.

I got to know him a good bit, a great humble young man. Would have been a perfect representative of St. John's

Nice to finally see officially on paper. The resident strength of opponents complainers will not have much to say this year!

I know there was no Holiday Festival at MSG last year, is this gone for good?

Strength of Schedule is going to definitely help us this year, and maybe even without such a stellar record our seed is high because of it.

The Pitino effect. No more Little Sisters of the Poor and Our Lady of Perpetual Motion.

No more St. Thomas Aquinas losses either.

Michigan exhibition game at MSG is not listed. Will that game be included in season tickets or is that a separate purchase?

We don't know who the third game in Vegas is going to be, so discounting that, the only non-conference foe we have, that sported an overall losing record last year, was Harvard. They were 12-15.

Iona was 17-17.

All other teams finished with a winning overall mark, so they should at least be good, relative to their league levels (not knowing what they lost, and who they are bringing in, of course).

I know tickets not on sale officially yet for CBS Classic in ATL but was on SeatGeek looking for other tickets and saw these.

I know its a doubleheader but Crazy $...Hoping these way off what prices will really be once they go public.
