Congrats RJ on a great season. Always will be a Johnnie in my book!
IF****.... i would say Sellers... senior transfer... wants to see the court. Joson/Ian are dynamic and and young. If he had come back to this team for his senior year as the 3 (imagine him, Zuby and Hopkins in the frontcourt) who do you think they wouldn’t they have brought in?
Great kid (classy, modest, respectful). Such a shame the way his season ended.RJ Luis won the Haggerty Award for best player in metro area
Last season we had Kadary Richmond who, at 6'6. was difficult to defend on drives.Darling is definitely the wild card. Seems to be the only PG on the roster with PG experience at high major D1 level. Being a PG involves lot more than bringing the ball up the court - the leadership intangibles of a true PG are invaluable. I hope darling can hack it at this level , as the lack of a true PG could be the Achilles heel for this team , as shooting was last year.
Kadary was awesome and we will miss him dearly next season. He led by example, never got rattled, and was selfless. Exactly what you need in big games. I think if he doesn’t get into foul trouble, we beat Arkansas. He would have gotten everyone better looks and we wouldn’t have shot as poorly as we did. That’s how important he was.Last season we had Kadary Richmond who, at 6'6. was difficult to defend on drives.
However, he was a zero threat offensively outside the paint.
His leadership was mediocre at best! He was not the coach on the floor. Once injured, Smith became " a wild card " because we never knew what to expect.
Ergo, our strength at pg was overstated.
There was no better example than our last game against Arkansas.
KR and Smith combined for 3 fat assists.
Jackson and Darling may actually bring more to the backcourt than some think.
The real wild card is when will this team gel and who will not fit in![]()
He had something to do with getting into foul trouble. So he did get rattled, it was on the defensive end.Kadary was awesome and we will miss him dearly next season. Really? Couldn’t disagree more. Plenty of ways to lead and being the loudest guy isn’t the only one..
