He got hurt last year and the Ivy League doesn't allow red shirts. Seems to fit Mullins preffered type of big at 6'9"/205. Versatile forward averaging 11.5ppg, 7.3rpg, 3.8apg and shooting 35% from outside. Would take this kid in a heartbeat.
It's such a bad rule. My friend's cousin was forced to leave Columbia and stay away from the basketball team for a year because of an injury. He re-enrolled the summer after and re-joined the team when he was healthy.
Rob Panell did the same thing for Cornell lacrosse. He dropped his classes the week before finals, turned down Citi and returned. It was a bit different since he was the best player in the country and one of the few that can make a good living playing lacrosse full time.
Harvard had 2 kids do this a few years back also. I think they got in some kind of trouble withdrew from school for a year and then returned for their senior year. Kyle Casey and Brandyn Curry, forgot the details but I know they had to leave school for a year in order to preserve that last year of eligibilty at Harvard.
