That time of the year I dream of a World Series Championship only to have my hopes dashed in about a month and a half by injuries or something

That being said I like the off season moves and happy about deGrom contract

It seems the Mets have their best team ‘on paper’ since 2014-15-16.
Let’s hope.

I am in a place that’s not so great with WiFi for the first series but will be at the home opener so I hope we can start the season ok. I am so happy for DeGrom. I’m my mind he has earned much of his contract already with his outstanding pitching and work ethic. I am sure he will give it his all every day of the contract and barring an injury will be a highlight for the next five seasons. I really hope Conforto and Syndegaard can have strong seasons as they are key players. There are a number of players that I am excited/interested to see play.

Talk about a great piece of trivia. Announcer on Yankee game just said that today's Mets - Nats game is first opener where both starters have 10 or more strikeouts since Dave McNally & Sam McDowell did it in 1970!

I take back all the bad things I’ve said about Csno since he got that crazy contract

In all seriousness. Nice to get the win. Cano looked sharp. Texted my uncle who is the biggest Mets fan I know, right after the home run. I said “cano with a home Run in 1st at bat as a met! LGM”

And he replied “I know, hopefully without any enhancers” if that doesn’t sum up the mentality of Mets fans everywhere I don’t know what does.

Other than Cano the bats didn’t show up today but I’m not gonna panic too much (yet) because they were facing an ace and the season just started. Hoping for the best but expecting the worst as par for the course rooting for the Mets.

How many ex-Yankees went on to good careers with the Mets?
I can think of the reverse-Gooden, Strawberry, Cone.

Would be nice to see both NY teams in the playoff hunt this year. One of the ESPN announcers was saying he believed AL East & NL East would be two toughest divisions.

I actually like that Cespedes won’t be available until 2nd half. He’s only a 90-game player at this stage of his career anyway.

I can’t wait to see what Wheeler does this year.

Or the dreaded 11-1....

Don’t sleep on McNeil either. He could be a gift from the baseball gods to makeup for Murphy and Turner.

He scored from first base without a throw on a single yesterday and it wasn’t even a hit and run! I’ve also had a triple where he walked out of the box looking at it. Fast kid.

My 162-0 dreams crushed today. 2 out of 3 to start on the road I'll take though
