I honestly think that if this stays the way it is, it will be the best spot for us. Playing a DePaul team which we should beat and get the momentum going against the tougher competition that we beat already.

Please tell me how being #7th, and playing Wednesday is the best spot to be in? What do hwe benefit when playing on Wednesday rather then having Wednesday off? Trust me, all these coaches want in the top 6.

#6 is the best spot to get in.

While I agree that #6 is a great spot to be in, I feel that building confidence and momentum against a bad team could be beneficial for a run.

but that is not how it would play out. They also will be playing to continue their season. Depaul is capable of playing us tough so we are not just going to blow their doors off and move on without breaking a sweat. We have to play hard and win the game. Winning 3 games in a row is possible if an extreme longshot. Winning 4 as a young, undersized team against strong Big East competition is close to impossible even for the best teams in the conference.

6 is 100% the best spot but look at who S Hall has left STJ can't possibly get to 6 unless they steal a road game and hold serve at home. So rather than be stuck 8 or 9 I think that is what he meant.

Well we'll get blown out @ Creighton, I think we'll hold serve @ MSG, so @ Marq is HUGE, lets see what happens tomorrow. This game probably tell wheather we play on Wednesday or Thursday.

Hoping they feel embarrassed giving up 110pnts @ Buter, and they play with a chip on their shoulder.

So who's going Wed night? I just bought my tix. Will be in Section 116 with a couple college buds. Running from a 3:30 landing at JFK. Hope I make it for a pregame ale.

Yes Stubhub. Been monitoring to get centerish in 100's and there's very little inventory. These 3 tix popped up this morning for just $25 each all in and I scooped them up. Lots available for very little money ($6++) in the 200s. Tickettmaster's got lots in the 200s as well.

I scooped up 6 dollar tickets off of there. Can't beat that. Looking like we'll have the 7 PM game right? Any way we can still get the 7 seed?

No.

8 seed vs. Georgetown. Saturday's game is meaningless WRT that.

after last night:

BIG EAST Tournament seeds determined: Villanova #1, Butler #2, St. John's #8, Georgetown #9, DePaul #10.

My eyesight's not good enough for the 200's. ;)

PS I must be in the Butler section. The tix were sent out of Indianapolis.

PPS starting to see some price movement. Nothing as cheap as I paid but seats in the row in front are now online at $35 ++ (mine were $19 ++)

Am I the only one who doesn't want to play G'Town? Just hate this matchup. I don't think we have ever beaten them at MSG in the history of the Big East Tournament, plus they will be playing to salvage a disaster of a season. We have surprised many this year with our 7 wins (hopefully 8 after the PC game), and I am worried about our guys being overconfident. b/c we just beat them last week.

Remember beating them soundly one year with norm in BET

Totally agree about the matchup. We don't defend them well and I seriously doubt we turn them over again like that. We also don't play to our strength in the matchup which is using our speed and making their defense work extra hard to have the advantage at the end of the game.

OTOH I doubt many on GT are thinking of salvaging the season and may be just wanting it over. It is not like their future is any better. They are just not a good team. A lot of good parts but not a good team and they need some change to get the program back on track and get people optimistic again.

Aside from Depaul, who would you rather play besides Georgetown? Nobody is really an easy matchup for us.

Xavier, not b/c it's an easier matchup, but it's usually hard to be someone 3 times in one season, at least that's the theory ; )

Other than the controversial Rutgers win in Lavin's first year, have we won any other BET games in last dozen years?
