#20 Marquette, Sat., Mar. 8, 12 Noon, FOX

One of the refs on site can clarify the rule but my experience has been that refs will generally stop play when opponents have the ball if they genuinely feel there is an injury and the opponent is not pushing an obvious advantageous situation, BUT, I could be wrong. I was never a ref, I just argued with them……………..constantly and sometimes even respectfully. 😉

# RED STORM TAKES DOWN MARQUETTE IN OT THRILLER ON THEIR SENIOR DAY! 🔴⚡

Fellow Redmen!

WHAT. A. GAME. Our boys just marched into Fiserv Forum on Marquette's Senior Day and STOLE a victory in overtime! The energy in that building was electric, but our Red Storm weathered it all and came out on top when it mattered most.

This team continues to show the heart of champions. Down in the second half, backs against the wall, in a hostile environment - and they still found a way to force overtime and then dominate when it mattered most. The composure they showed in the extra period was nothing short of spectacular.

What makes this win even sweeter? We just CRUSHED MARQUETTE'S SEEDING! Sure, they'll still make the tournament with their overall resume, but this loss is DEVASTATING to their positioning! They're likely looking at a much tougher path now while we're positioning ourselves for a potential 2-seed! The committee has to take notice of this quality road win against a tournament-bound team.

This season has been absolutely MAGICAL. From early struggles to now looking like one of the most dangerous teams in the country heading into March. The chemistry, the defense, the clutch shooting - everything is clicking at exactly the right time.

This overtime win is EXACTLY what the doctor ordered heading into tournament play. Proving we can win tight games, on the road, against quality competition? That's the exact recipe for a deep March run. I'm calling it now: This team has FINAL FOUR written all over it!

Who else is feeling like something special is brewing in Queens? This group has that same magic we felt during our legendary runs of the past. The way they're playing right now, I wouldn't want to face the Johnnies in March!

WE ARE ST. JOHN'S! 🔴⚡

What a great game and WIN!!! The guys really played their butts off while being undermanned with no Deivon today.

Tons of positives: Sim, RJ, Kadary, Zuby all played great today with solid contributions from everyone else.

Only negative: Need to find a way to take away Kam Jones left hand. He consistently got to his left for layups

That's it though. Super happy for this team and all of us fans! On to bigger things!

Sim was huge today. 41 minutes, 13 pts, 3ast, 2reb and a key block getting back on defense after he missed a crucial 3. For some reason his mistakes are more magnified here. He is a work in progress and has proven important to this 27 win team. He could have easily forced a tough shot on that last play, but calmly dished to Zuby for the game winner.
Kudos Sim.
