Transfer Portal

Absolutely. Clayton Jr is going to come too. Major upgrades are coming to this roster. Outside of storr and soriano, no starting spot is safe.
Fordham commented he'd need a waiver to play next season.
Don't know how difficult that is these days.

Seems so strange to end it like this when it was his dream job and all that. Wonder if something went very sour behind the scenes between Cooley and the school. Cause the whole thing seems so odd
I ws at the BE tourney this year and watched the PC - UCONN game…although PC made a frantic comeback, at the time I mentioned to my friend that I couldn’t help but think that Cooley had to have come to the realization that he was never going to be able to build a team like UCONN.

Walter Clayton hasn't used his one-time free transfer yet so he would be eligible immediately with no waiver needed should he choose to transfer from Iona.

Quinn Slazinski will need to get a waiver. Assuming he graduates in May this would be what he needs to do according to this site - https://www.athleticscholarships.net/ncaa-transfer-exceptions.htm

I personally think they'd be able to get the waiver fairly easily but ya never know if the NCAA still wants to stick it to Rick a bit.

Graduate Transfer Waiver

The graduate transfer waiver is now typically used by athletes who have previous transferred once before and so cannot use the one-time transfer exception (even as a graduate student).

A letter from the previous school saying it does not object to the student-athlete being eligible;

Documentation that the student-athlete has been accepted into a specific graduate degree program;

Documentation about whether that degree program is offered by the previous school;
A student-athlete statement including the reasons for the transfer; and

A statement from the previous institution about the student-athlete’s status on the team.

Generally the heart of the waiver is the three middle bullets. The NCAA wants to see that the student-athlete transferred in order to continue his or her academic career by pursuing a graduate degree not offered at the previous school.

Tyler Nickel UNC. Take a peek. Kid can play. Good size Strong/Tough. Not in a good position at UNC. Saw him numerous times on AAU circuit, with another half step on defense and willingness to commit to defense kid can be a top player. Only a freshman. Rick is the type of coach this kid needs to maximize his full potential.

I wouldn't be surprised if Rick Pitino speaks with the St. John's players tomorrow and see a couple of kids enter the portal rather quickly.

Will be interesting to see if any show up to the press conference. Remember at CMA's press conference, Heron and Figueroa were there.
