(BET) Marquette, Thur., MAR. 9, 12 Noon, FS-1

Say what you will Mike gets them to play hard if not always successful. And as someone else pointed out they were never embarrassed in the BET. Last 3 BET QF matchups under Mullin went like this: 2017 lost to Villanova 107-68, 2018 lost to Xavier 88-60 and 2019 lost to Marquette 86-54. So Mullin's last 3 losses in the BET were by a combined 99 points....
Mike gets an A for his players playing hard. But gets a F for his players playing low IQ bb. This should be addressed during their daily practices. Yet we see the same over and over again.

22 trurnovers
Posh, Storr, Jones, and Soriano a combined 10-51 for the game. It's amazing the game went OT, with those guys shooting like that.

Wusu has flaws (the staff seems to think he's Anthony Mason as a ballhandler), but he gives you everything, night after night. He's just not that great. I just really wish the fans would lay off him sometimes.
22 turnovers and Jones 5 for 22. That's all you need to know.

Kids gave it their all. Played for a clueless coach. We ran that same "play" the last 6 possessions.... Wusu with ball off a high Soriano screen. We had no halfcourt offense all year. Kolek can only go left. Went that way the whole game. A good coach recognizes this and has his defense push him to his right..... not our coach. Continued to allow him left off of every screen and drive. Foul shooting killed us all year. Probably lost 5-6 games because of poor foul shooting or critical misses down the stretch.

Now the real next season begins. I expect most of the eligible kids to enter the portal and try and salvage the rest of their college careers. Better act fast on the coaching decision or else it will be ugly.

Marquette was outcoached. Period. Even Pitino wouldn't have stolen a win with some of the ordinary players who are called on to play against better competition. Jones was the biggest culprit. I could go on, but I don't like trashing hard working players who give their all.

No shame in today's loss. The kids played hard. We have no business being in the same league as Marquette is right now. The most frustrating part about this season was that we had decent players to make the tournament but the coach could never figure out the right recipe on who should be on the floor at the same time etc.

Jones may be our worst defensive player. Never moved his feet to cover his man who was wide open.
Soriano with a poor game (2 for 8 FG) after yesterday's opener.
