More Storr!!!!

Since I started rooting for the program as a kid I have on occasion really taking a liking to the game of a Freshman who I felt was not playing as much as he should. With one exception I have always been right. Here is the list in chronological order:
Mark Jackson
Shelton Jones
Marcus Broadnaux
Derek Brown
Larry Legend
AJ Storr
Now loyalty is a very good quality
But not when it comes to playing time in sports.
Some of the above showed flashes (and in the case of Larry Wright the team was so bad and boring why wouldn’t you play a kid who could shoot) but also could look overmatched. But you live with that early in the season. In the case of Storr his shooting line is 50/100/50. I know limited sample but that cries out for more. This is especially true considering Wusu is an awful offensive player.
If this team is going to break the 50 year drought of not winning a tournament game it is going to need “More Storr”!

He was the 1st guy off the bench last night and was absolutely awful when he was out there. He will get more time, but he has to earn it. He did not do that last night. This is a real basketball team this year and we are not just handing kids playing time based on their high school status.

CMA is handling Storr perfectly. When he proves it, he will get more time. Until then, we will just keep winning games!

Played 4 minutes missed 1 shot got called for terrible offensive foul
Not sure where terrible comes from

Well, coach agreed as he didnt sniff the floor for the rest of the game. He looked like a fish out of water out there. Not his fault. Hes young and learning. But was not ready to play in a game of that magnitude last night. He will get there though. Just is going to take some time.

Storr had a bad turnover and then had his shot stuffed in his face when he tried to flash into the Syracuse zone.

It was humbling for sure.

The only issue I have is that he sat on the bench for the rest of the game, which can be confidence-destroying for a young player.

Gotta get to the kid in practice today to make sure he knows he's needed. Then give him plenty of minutes against Niagara.

Coaches, specifically ST John’s coaches don’t always do the right thing
Which is kind of the point of this thread

39% for the season from 3 means nothing to you but apparently 32% in 6 games is enough to draw conclusion.

Top 10 in the BE in Assists and A/to ratio as a sophomore.
When he has the ball I get anxious, and not good anxious either. Like anxious before a prostrate exam

32% overall
28% from 3
Geno numbers
I like his D
Don’t like him doing anything on offense
I've said elsewhere before, Wusu reminds me of Earlington's development. Earlington was an awful offensive player with some skill on D, who then developed some offensive game. We have not quite seen that development yet from Wusu in his now third year. Will it come? IDK, but sure hope so. He has shown times in the past of getting hot and carrying stretches in a game.

And how was Wusu’s shooting, including his air balls (he wasn’t even close to the rim) and his turnovers? The fact that you continue to sing his praises after the last two games is curious to say the least. 😂

Yea I’m really singing his praises this year.

But since you asked he had 1 to. Same amount of TO’s on the season as Storr in close to double the minutes. It’s not about scoring.

Wusu played an excellent game last night, especially down the stretch. Don't question for a minute that Storr has a higher ceiling. I would hope he gets extended minutes against Niagra to get his confidence up, but he definitely didn't deserve more time in last night's game.

You really are loyal
Reason Storr was bigger recruit
Just something to chew on as Anderson “handles Storr perfectly” in this day and age of easy transfers……

The problem here is that if you are going to bring in a four star player, he needs to play, not sit. Storr is Anderson’s highest rated HS recruit (out of HS) to date and he barely plays? I’m sure when Storr sees Wusu and others getting minutes over him, he losses confidence in himself which isn’t good.

I have to question posters who are justifying Wusu’s play time over Storr? The OOC schedule is the best time for Storr to get minutes in preparation for the conference schedule. If not then, when???? In this last game, while Wusu got a couple of rebounds, he threw up one bad shot after another, threw a pass right into a defenders hand for a break away layup, and made a few costly fouls.
