2025-2026 Season

My brother is like that. He won't watch a game live...he tapes them, learns the final score, then it's on.
I’m like that for games I can’t go to in person and can’t watch on TV when the game is scheduled to start. I DVR it and wait to see if we won. This goes for games that I can’t catch the beginning of on TV. I DVR it and wait till the game goes final. If we won, I’ll watch it, if we lost, it gets erased and I move on.

I can't relax, either, but I have to watch it live. Not knowing what's going on makes it worse.

Actually, I have a much easier time when attending games. I have to practice self-control, there. At home, there is too much freedom for me to just go off on the bad results.

I think every poster wants Ian to pick up his play on both ends of court. Now that the “our next point guard” proclamation from Rick early has been put to rest, it seems wise for Ian to practice hard, embrace the details and relax.

His wing skills and athleticism are obvious and could help us. He seems comfortable running the court and providing some help D, but imo the rubber hits the road in the half court at both ends of court. To stay out of Pitino dog house, you have to have be prepared and put in the work. Hopefully Ian does that in remaining OOC play strengthening his rotational status.

If he does what you correctly state and follows CRP he can get solid minutes at both thé 2 & 3 and play 25 minutes à game.

I think he's over reacting and trying to force things. He tries to make spectacular passes, which often result in turnovers. He just needs to relax and use his obvious skills and let the game come to him. It seems like right now he's trying to do too much and is afraid his mistakes will result in less time on the floor.

He's going to be OK.

I think a number of the guys need to learn to abort the mission if it ain’t there…give the ball up

He's a four-year player and he needs to realize that's OK.

Watching Houston - Auburn today we have a long way to go in terms of toughness. We are very talented but I am not convinced that we are a top 5 or 6 team - second weekend for sure which would be a nice step up.

I think in this case it's more like what we did to Derek Brown. Sellers can do it, but in doing so we are taking away his main strength. Brown had like a 3-foot vertical and should have been off the ball to be free to dunk on everyone's head.

Exactamundo.

Been thinking about the Derek Brown comparison ever since I saw the Jackson/Sellers point guard talk this summer.

Mahoney had so little faith in PG Mo Brown that he took his second-best player - a natural 2G who everyone thought could be a star - and neutered him.

Assuming Darling shows he can man the point for us in those ooc games v solid teams, I can see he and Sellers developing chemistry resulting in Oziyah getting good looks and making a high % of perimeter shots, precisely why we signed him.

I realize it is an unknown at this point that Darling can demonstrate the ability noted, but there is another challenge. We brought in Sanon and Ian to infuse some consistent scoring into the equation. Early, but we certainly have not seen that. The defensive deficits of these two were well known and are safely a work in progress. That said, I assumed both would add some fire power to the offense.

In summary on offense;

* Darling must acquit himself well against tough ooc opponents remaining, am confident Sellers will benefit from that and Ian and Sanon must develop into consistent threats.

* If Darling does not cut the mustard to earn solid PG minutes imo Sellers’ perimeter production suffers as our default PG.

* I think Ian, Joson & Oziyah can benefit greatly if Darling is mans the point well.

A lot of “ifs” here, but it would be a shame w a nice interior group if our guard cadre is a “house of cards”. As often said, college hoops is guard’s game and we need to demonstrate proficiency there to really be a Dance contender.

I think we all need to take a breath and let Ian acclimate. Let's not forget last year 75% of the board was ready to write-off Kadary.

"After Carnesecca home games were included in the student season ticket package, suddenly, this season, that’s no more. The system has now changed, making it a “first come, first serve” basis when logging online to preorder tickets during the week, making it a very limited and aggravating process for all students."

Watched some of the Iowa State game last night. They are solid, don't turn the ball over and have two excellent players in point guard Lipsey and power forward Joshua Jefferson. Having said that, I like our chances against them as I think our front court will give them fits inside and I think we will wear them down.
