Homeland And All Things Maher

Having finished Task, i can confidently say that Tom Pelphrey handily gives the TV performance of the year in this. There are some scenes later on where he is reacting to new information he receives, and he is just unbelievably good. You can feel his character's pain through the screen.
Did you see Ozark, because he was phenomenal on that show in only one season.

I’m through 3 episodes, fantastic show. Very intriguing.

Just finished the Diplomat. Last 2 episodes, except the last 10 minutes, must have been written by teenage girls.

New Apple TV show Down Cemetery Road based on the Oxford series of books written by Mick Heron before he wrote the Slow Horses books. Revolves around a female private investigator played by Emma Thompson supported by Ruth Wilson of Luthor fane. Good cast backed up by good writing. Sounds promising. Starts Oct 24.

Looks like they're rolling out some heavyweights this fall.

I'm looking forward to the new Vince Gilligan series "Pluribus" with Rhea Seehorn. The trailer is bonkers in all the right ways. I have no idea what's going on.

Yeah watched that trailer yesterday and immediately added to my to watch list. Breaking Bad and Better Caul Saul are on it to, but that will have to wait for spring. So many episodes seems too daunting while I'm still working.

Wait, you’ve never seen BB or Better Call Saul?? If that’s true, I’m immensely jealous and I want a play-by-play while you’re watching.

Blog Idea!
I have rewatched both shows and watched many episodes up to 5 or 6 times. I would love to re-live watching those shows for the first time again. As the kids say…peak cinema. Forget the acting, the Gilligan/Gould writing team is unmatched. Nothing, no scene or detail, is wasted or should be ignored by the viewer. And, Mike Ehrmantraut is probably my favorite character of all-time on a show that’s filled with fantastic characters.

I think it's Peak TV, but I am looking forward to it come April.

Through 5 episodes of Task now and, wow, 5th episode really hits you. When Ruffalo’s character makes that call to his daughter, real emotional scene there, having kids myself. Him and Pelphrey really make the last 20min of that episode great. Blown away.

So…didn’t love the last 2 episodes that much, thank god for a slow work day, and have to say the show peaked end of episode 5/first half of 6. Still, very engrossing show, emotional scenes, slow burns done well…definitely a fan.
