Mets are 136-128 All time in Miami. Not decisive but hardly a house of horrors.

Mets are also 290-246 All Games vs Marlins.

Sure the Marlins have played us tough but facts tell a different story.

Now Atlanta is …
Overall records aren’t important all I know is it has seemed that this century in important late season games Miami has given the Mets problems even though the Mets have been the better team.

I think the Marlins being officially eliminated from the playoffs, however small that chance was, is kind of a big deal.

I know they’ll still give us everything they can, but it has to be a bit of a letdown to have nothing to play for in the last series after making such a run the past two weeks. I’m still preparing for the worst (as I have all season 😉).

Don't forget as St Johns fans when we stunk Pre Pitino we reveled in other teams misery. If I was a marlin that's what I would be playing for. To send the other team to the golf course

Either way if we don't win this weekend we don't deserve it. I'll be pissed but this team has shown no fight most of the time and wouldn't be here in this position without McLean

The season comes down to a series against the Marlins.

What could go wrong?

7 game lead with 17 to go. Glavine (13-7) on mound in season end must win game to make playoffs. Gives up 7 runs in 1st inning. Worst collapse in mlb history.

For Mets, 7 is an unlucky number.

What number are the Mets wearing on their sleeves this season.

I know there were some hiccups last night, by no means a perfect start, but I still think McLean may be the MVP of the team right now. Not for the whole season, i just mean, at this very moment, he is the most valuable player we have. Because even with some mistakes, the amount of strike outs he gets, I could just feel it taking pressure off of the rest of the team. It is a lot nicer to get out of jams via the K, as opposed to someone in the field having to make some big throw (have we talked about how dead Nimmo's arm is? At what point is that a liability?)

I hate to go out on this limb but he reminds me of Seaver in his determination, composure, and grittiness. I think he is the real thing.

His pitch arsenal may be more like David Cone's but I'll gladly take either.

You're dead on. If we make the playoffs, I'd be fine with going with McLean, Tong, and Sproat, although I'm sure Peterson will get a nod.

He was tiring at 85 pitches, more with location than velocity. But MVP of this team may be a bit much with Lindor, Alonso, and Soto. Maybe just savior.

He just ran out of gas there. He was completely dominant. The Cubs players were shaking their heads…their dugout was in disbelief. As he matures, he will learn to pitch to soft contact. You can’t throw 70 dazzling pitches and expect to see the late innings.

He was so good before that final inning my Mets text group was not sure if we’d rather have 6 years of McLean or 4 years of Skenes. Which is crazy that was even a moment of pause. A month ago any you’d trade all 3 young starters and Benge for Skenes.

He should get even better too. And his frame is massive if he wanted to add weight.

And uber-athletic. He can jump right off the mound like a cat.

They have their 3 best starters lined up to go this weekend so doubt they are going to just lay down this weekend.

kid has surpassed vet. Nice to see, hope Baty keeps trending upward.
Nimmo has 200+ more plate appearances, but the OPS+ difference is only 117 vs. 112. The percentage stats are all right in the ballpark.

What's also impressive is that Baty was pretty awful the first 19 games of the year when he was sent down: .204 BA/.246/.352 with 1 homer and 4 RBI's.

Once he was brought up, for good, on May 7th, his 110 game sample size is: .263/.324/.450 (.774 OPS) with 17 homers and 46 RBI's. A fantastic trajectory and portends to a good Major League starter.
