New York Mets 2025 Season

Just a horrible at bat by Nimmo, who used to know how to put the ball in play.
Not to sound condescending, but the Mets have a lot of the same guys but it seems apparent they got rid of three guys that REALLY mattered, Iglesias, Bader and Quintana.
Having “IT” is a very undefinable, elusive thing but especially in a group dynamic; last years team had it in spades, this years team obviously doesn’t. It is rudderless, from Stearns on down.
Don’t forget Winker

This team deserves nothing. I’d love to know their record since McNeil came back to clubhouse. I’ve said it all along he is a cancer. Pretty sure they are 20 games under .500 since he came back to Queens.

Did not see the 9th, did Alvarez pinch hit for Vientos straight up or did Vientos get hurt or something?
If yes; why the F’ would even Mendoza do that?

Vientos tried to check his swing with 2 strikes in the 6th, but the first base ump said he went around (from my POV it did seem like a swing)

Vientos smashed his bat on the ground and got ejected for it

Thanks, had to go to my grandson’s travel baseball game and missed the last half of the game, just followed the score and looked at some of the play-by-play on the ESPN scoreboard.
Looks like the Mets are in the throes of completing a “Michael Ray Richardson”.

Feels a lot like September 07 and 08 for the Mets. Just doesn’t matter what this team does the foundation has cracked beyond repair and the collapse is in full effect. Can’t put the toothpaste back in the tube gents we are done!

Also find me a fanbase less deserving than Cincy. That was a huge series for them 2 weeks ago and their stadium was half empty. Mets fans have been showing up all season paying ridiculous prices to bring our families and this is what we get in return!

Disagree. Reds fans gave amount of support due to a team with a 118 million dollar payroll and lower expectations. Mets fans not very smart as they allowed themselves to be caught in a bait and switch as they had high expectations given a 340 million dollar payroll but team is full of a bunch of choking dogs.

I watched the reds series and saw it with my own eyes. That was a huge one for them and nobody was there. Meanwhile I’ve been to 14-15 Mets games this year and they’ve all been packed. Every dodo in there cheering on this team when they should have been booing. Below proves my point, they are not a good fanbase their attendance numbers are shite.

If they don’t make the playoffs and it looks like it. You have to fire Mendoza. The problem I had with Omar in 07 is he didn’t fire Willie after the collapse. Cohen needs to tell Stearns that this isn’t a small market.

Population of Cincinnati 309,000 draw over 2 million. Population of NYC 8.8 million draw over 3 million. Do the math 😉😊👍

Ah yes Mets fans aren’t smart for *checks notes* going to baseball games and rooting for the team

Season is disappointing for sure but fans being supportive a year after they went to the NLCS and paid for a top 5 player in the sport isn’t fans falling for anything it’s just them being… fans

It was said more in jest and as a response to criticism of other fans but mostly out of anger that a team with basically the best record in baseball after 2 1/2 months of the season has had one of the worst records in baseball for the last 3 and 1/2 months and now sit outside even a third wildcard position with a 340 million dollar payroll.

Understandable

Personally I don’t intend to get caught up in the “what fans deserve it more” because fans don’t determine anything that actually happens on the field (unless you count guys like the Yankee fan who tried to take the ball from mookie betts in the World Series lol)

I don’t know much about reds fans, but what I do know is the reds team deserves it more than the mets do if they take care of business this week. We will see
