But way too many for Mendoza to put him back out for the 11th.7 pitches. That's a great half inning
I was freaking out when he didn't pitch the next. But way too many for Mendoza to put him back out for the 11th.Managing by formula
Rooting is a weird thing. I don’t especially like this team, although the young pitchers have certainly changed that to a definite degree but I still live and die with games like today’s.That was as Metsian a loss as you’re gonna get. That’s the thanks we get rooting for this team.
I’ve stopped living and dying with my teams due to the fact I’m almost 50, these teams NEVER win any championships and these players make more than I ever will playing a kids game. It may sound dumb, and I always root for the teams I root for no matter what, but I refuse to let these teams dictate my mood the way I did when I was younger.Rooting is a weird thing. But I also can let losses like this go much quicker than say last year, because frankly, I don’t think this team really lives and dies with losses like this, unlike last years team.
No leadership, no chemistry, lackadaisical losses like today, with everything on the line, just changes the dynamic for me.
Um he should have bunted. But, no one does that anymore. Home runs only.Mets did so many things wrong it’s so hard to just pick on one.
I will anyway. Can someone get to Francisco Alvarez and let him know he DOESN’T have to swing at every single pitch.
His last two ABs he offered at almost every pitch. The DP was the most predictable thing ever. He has no idea how to zone pitches. Guy wants to play hero ball and all he is is undisciplined.

Bunted? ZERO chance Alvarez knows how to bunt.Um he should have bunted. But, no one does that anymore. Home runs only.
To be fair, and I said it originally, almost no manager would do that nowadays. I’d be the idiot teaching them how to bunt in spring training and telling them to do so, especially in a tie game, but I’m an old bastard at this point.Bunted? ZERO chance Alvarez knows how to bunt.
I mean why would we try to win a game or something like that when we take a full rip while our helmet falls off and he falls to the ground while striking out or hitting into a solid double play!
lol, I don’t know what to say. You all know the teams I root for at this point. I mean Tottenham winning the Europa Cup was as close to a championship I’ve gotten in a long long long time…Germany did win the ‘14 World Cup.You need to lead our sports therapy group
This tells you everything you need to know about this gutless club:
Alvarez IMO was/is an incredibly overrated player. Ditto Baty, Mauricio and Acuna. While McLean, Tong and Sproat appear to have been coached up to know HOW to be pitchers, not just throwers, not one of the position players seem to have gotten the equivalent as players.Mets did so many things wrong it’s so hard to just pick on one.

what’s so crazy is last years Mets built their identity by clawing back into games late. Despite having a lot of the same guys these team just rolls over late in games. I mean I’ll give them some props for tying the game last night, but then bases loaded with 1 out we couldn’t finish itNot exactly The Comeback Kids
Just a horrible at bat by Nimmo, who used to know how to put the ball in play.what’s so crazy is last years Mets built their identity by clawing back into games late.
