Todd Pletcher best "big race" trainer. Johnny V. best "big race" jockey. Class act.
Where is the drone view he uses as justification to say Dylan Davis INTENTIOALLY tried to take out two horses, one of which was his. Untill I see it, seems like an overreaction on his part.
Well, Mindframe got creamed, and his jockey Irad Ortiz was knocked off the mount right after the start of the
1 million dollar Jockey Club Gold Cup.
However, all was not lost for our SJU racing efforts today. In the 1 million dollar Kentucky Cup Juvenile Stakes at Kentucky Downs, a two-year-old named Johnny's Red Storm, ridden by the legendary Lanfranco Dettori, trained by top trainer George Weaver, and owned by John J Cronin Jr. and RAP Racing (Rick A Pitino), went wire to wire and won impressively as the 8 to 5 favorite.
It would be only fitting if Repole would own a horse called Over the Top lol
Johnny V is a family friend. One of the nicest guys you will ever meet.

Not surprised that Johnny V. is a great guy. I go to Saratoga for a few days every summer and he is such a classy guy. His ride on Saturday was the difference in the race. First, to straighten Fierceness out after he nearly hit the fence at the start. But also the great strategic move to put Fierceness on the lead before the final turn (I think he surprised the others with that move). That's what won the race.
Hoping to have an opportunity to say hello to him one day at Saratoga.

Actually, I think he once owned a horse called over The Top!
I don't have any inside info on this one, but if I had to guess Johnny's Red Storm looks like a very strong contender for the Breeder's Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint on October 31st at Del Mar. His combination of blazing speed and the short distance of five furlongs make him a logical strong entry for this event.

Dylan Davis is a very good jockey and horse racing is a very dangerous sport. I would be shocked if it was his intention to take out two horses.

Looks to me like Dylan Davis was try to get away from a horse that was making a sharp left turn, but correct himself just before a big bump, White Abarrio got squeezed and hit Mindframe's hind end hard that through Irad off balance and he did a 'strategic dismount'. Anyone who think jockeys are incredible athletes should watch Irad attempt to get to safety after the accident. He had enough strength and balance to ride White Abarrio for a while until he could find some free space to drop and roll. Thankfully Sierra Leone did not trample him any worse than what happened.
I think Mike Repole was just upset with how the race went and concerned about his Jockey and speaking with a lot of emotion. I don't think he actually believes Davis is a dirty racer.
