Read in the NY Post that the Rays owner is in "advanced talks" to sell his team for $1.7 billion. As a St. John's alumnus, why does it seem he's alienated from both the school and the basketball team? I'm asking because I don't know.

Believe Beast had shared in past that multiple attempts were made in pads but he declined as there was no interest on his part.

If he has little to no affinity for the school gor how it may have helped him, then there isn't much that can be done to change. Probably not motivated to have a name on a building or good seats at Carnesecca.

Many moons ago, I drove a taxi as I worked my way through college. I met the owner of the Rays, had him in my car one day. He was a very personable person, and pretty down to earth.

Know who else is a really nice guy, Joe Torre? Super nice, and always friendly. Drove to his house allll the time.

That's about all I got for you on the Rays owner, lol
