New York Mets 2025 Season

This would be great if he could pitch down the stretch.

The trade deadline or maybe someone in the minors but getting as many arms in the bullpen is going to be what wins.

Don't forget Nunez. I hope he figures it out in AAA by late summer. He was electric last year.

Also wouldn't be surprised if Holmes reaches his innings limit, and is our ace up our sleeve in the bullpen -- along with maybe Megill?

Really gonna be at teh deadline from a position of strength

Hopefully, they can work their magic with Nunez. Montas is not pitching well. Manaea *should* be getting close. Theoretically you can move Holmes to a bullpen role at that point especially since he has already thrown more innings this year than last.

My point is let’s get as many bullpen arms as feasible and see who shakes out. Mets lean heavily on the pen.

I agree. The Minter loss hurts and do think we need another guy who can get lefties out.

With the victory tonight the NY Mets are 4-2 vs LAD. That CLINCHES the season series win which may or may not be important for a tiebreaker. Not bad. Not bad at all.

That Pete Alonso guy is pretty good too.

Catching up on the highlights this morning, how about Canning last night? What a find and what a job by our staff.
Hefner continues to do amazing work. There are going to be an increasing number of pitchers willing to sign short term deals with the Mets who are looking to reset their careers and make some money long term.

Unreal. Stearns makes me feel like middle schooler throwing out stupid ideas whereas I legitimately felt many of us were on par with our past GMs. Great feeling. We have a stud pitching almost every day at A and AA too.
Similar to Pitino.

It's a lot more fun to not armchair GM with these guys and legitimately think "maybe my hunch makes more sense".

I am so use to hanging on every move thinking “you know they are going to screw it up”. Now it’s more like “sounds great, I can’t wait to watch this guy play”.

Right now they (it’s more people in the organization than just Stearns) are way more right than wrong. I genuinely can’t wait to see some of the more recent drafted players graduate. The talent and talent evaluators as a whole have us on a very good path.
