Malone is the first name lots will say. But he clashed with front office in Denver and it seemed real bad at the end there.
Some will say he needed arguably the best player in the game.
Bryant makes a lot of sense. The connections to Rose and Wes. As someone mentioned Suns were hot after Bryant and maybe this is why Knicks struck quick.

And coming Detroit team , thé beat the champion Celtics , à couple of different bounces against à deep and talented Pacers team and they are in the finals. This was a bad move ImHo. Thiba did as good à job as possible with the roster he had, which has some warts.

The have won 2 championships OVER 50 years ago; the Rangers last won the Cup in 1994 over 30 years ago. Pointing out his "success" over the last 5 years ain't an NBA championship. MSG is having financial issues. It's parent has lost 50% of share value in the last 2 years. MSG networks is facing bankruptcy.
The only reason Dolan is ruining/running the teams and MSG is that his daddy put him there. Charles was the businessman who founded Cablevision and HBO.

If you want a coach to get talent over the hump, Jackson is not it.
I think they actually want to pluck a successful still-employed NBA head coach or are actually trying to see what Jay can do.
Don't think it's Malone.

Assume they don’t get Kidd, Udoka, or Finch, I have a hard time believing they do all of this for a retread NBA coach or an assistant they let out the door before extending Thibs.

Good - Hurley can stay in Storrs and far away from the Knicks. He is not equipped to be an NBA coach.
