NBA Draft 2025

As much as RJ should be following suite and withdrawing, he probably sees this as thinning the draft competition.

this was always the plan, not really news

he's very much looking forward to playing at SJU
I know it was always the plan but sometimes plans do change.

More from Zach B.

Derek Malloy, agent for Joson Sanon:

"I think if it was any other school he was committed to, and not St. John's and how special they look next year, I probably would've pressured him to stay in the draft. What St. John's has is really special, so there's no need to disrupt that. If you're going to a top five-team in New York City right now, there's not really any better places to be."

Seems like the guys who are withdrawing mostly had predetermined landing spots. Unless it's Miami for RJ if he has one there doesn't seem to be a lot of transparency on it. He may well stay the course.

I wonder if KU would take a swing after missing on Sarr and Williams

I don’t believe he’d have any issues finding a landing spot but that’s just me.

Completely agree - just an observation that most of the guys who came back, you had an idea what would happen - Fland knew he was going to Florida, Lendeborg had already signed with Michigan, Condon we knew would go back to Florida if he pulled out, Knox clearly had his arrangement with Arkansas, etc. The fact that there is no (known) arranged landing spot for RJ perhaps hints that he is planning to stay in, regardless.

But (a) there may be a deal in place that isn't public knowledge; and (b) even absent that I am sure he would find a good landing spot upon return.

Goodman hinted that every indication is RJ is staying in draft and hasn’t really spoken to schools still. Similar with Watkins.

Will be interesting to see if there’s any last hour surprises tomorrow

Did condon officially withdraw?

Edit: found it myself

Is Derek Malloy MCNPA?! This guy love us.

Wishing RJ all the best but feel he’s made mistake after mistake since the season ended. Just my opinion.
I agree with this. Some kids in the past and now just seem to get bad advice, or don't heed the good advice they get. He will probably still land somewhere at a mil plus (so how bad is that??), but some guys fail to optimize and have their minds set to their detriments. I hope for the best for him, but I think we may have seen this movie before.
