I love how the speed causes issues. Fielders hurry throws and pitchers are really affected with him on base.

I like that he played center when we went up 4-0. If he can play an above average CF in addition to his infield defense, he will have a place for years as a utility guy.

Unfortunately there have been a lot of those or even guys that played well here and we moved them to do even better like Kevin Mitchell.

Kent and Mitchell were clearly steroids. The Bay area is the PED capital led by the Stanford and Cal labs.

Even over the last 5-7 years the Giants have been able to get some very suspicious results from older players.

Highlights the problem with the Mets approach to pitching. This is a playoff team we have depth in the rotation. Question is who do we trust when facing a Dodgers or Phillies lineup when we are facing say a Yamamoto or Wheeler? Megill? Canning? Peterson? Manaea? etc. Mets need to answer that question or we might be facing a good but not good enough ending again.

I actually don't agree. I think Megill is a pretty good AAAA pitcher, and if we were fully healthy, he's not on our roster. Blackburn, Manaea and Montas are all above him and are on their way back. Canning has overachieved, but his underlying metrics are still solid.

I trust Senga and Manaea, and I still think Holmes has ace-stuff. The question for all these guys, in different contexts, is if any of them hold up by then? Not sure. The question isn't necessarily different for any team though. Pitching injuries are insane. Also think Peterson is a more than respectable 4th option on a playoff team.

Look at the Dodgers. Hampered by pitching injuries every year. Maybe this year we get aggressive and trade for another frontline guy. I wouldn't be opposed to it.
