The off topic thread

Yeah I read some of the Bama fan reactions on social media and they were all excited for this game. Funny because even a year ago the response absolutely would not have been as positive.
It’s crazy how fast perceptions can change in college basketball. Baylor went from no history to national power out of nowhere and after a murder scandal. From 1950 to 2007 they made ONE NCAA tournament and lost on the first round of that. By 2012 they were a powerhouse.

I felt a little bit of imposter syndrome last season, but like we are the real deal now.

Outside of (maybe) quarterback in the NFL, is there a singular more powerful/most important figure in sports than college head coach?

I’m done overthinking it.

I really appreciate the leeway that the mods give during the offseason.

Personally, I’m a Penn State football diehard and a St John’s fan/masochist (since birth). Right now all the “gurus” have Penn State as the number one preseason pick, and SJU as a locked in final four contender. I honestly don’t know how to deal with this level of quality, and sometimes my posts probably reflect this confusion!!!
