2025-26 Rankings

Seen on "the score" today their early rankings.

#3 ST. JOHN's

Rick Pitino's transfer class is far and away the most talented in the nation. The Red Storm brought in three former five-star recruits: North Carolina's Ian Jackson, Cincinnati's Dillon Mitchell, and Arizona State's Joson Sanon. They also snagged one of the Big East's best players, ex-Providence wing Bryce Hopkins, who should be 100% after tearing his left ACL in January 2024 and appearing in only three games during the 2024-25 campaign. It will be shocking if St. John's doesn't have a top-five defensive unit next season.
Defensive? interesting... feel like that side is gonna take the hit...

ESPN just came out with their 2026 NCAA Tournament Bracketolgy and, with all our new players, have us as a #1 seed in the South.

They also have us ranked #3 in the nation pre-season.
who are we playing against and what time is our first game ? Don't tell me Arkansas or Kentucky 2nd round

In looking at Lunardi's projections what is going on with Gonzaga and San Diego State next season. I saw them both as an automatic qualifiers. Is San Diego State still playing in the Mountain West and Gonzaga the WCC? I thought they were moving (San Diego St.) to Pac 12 and Gonzaga(Mountain West).

not too high on BE, only SJU, UConn, Creighton and Marquette in a play in game. SEC,B10 and Big 12 dominate, hell the ACC gets in 5. But we are a 1 seed!

Hopefully Rick is successful in loading our out of conference schedule up with Quad 1 teams.

Following year though I think they are having a hard time finding two more teams to join.

All the new teams Gonzaga and STSU join the Pac-12 (Pac 8) in July 2026. The PAC got the framework of a TV deal in place. They will exist, it just remains to be seen if they will spark another round of realignment or if they just pick up Sac State. Either way with Gonzaga, SDSU, and Boise their basketball conference isn’t half bad.

Lunardi reflects the committee selections. They are not fans of the BE. They want the Power conferences represented as much as possible.

I do think that they should implement a rule that you need to be .500 in conference to be eligible (other than aqs)
