Available Lead Guards

Have seen his name mentioned mostly in jest the past couple days and apologies as to who raised it but we just might have to consider a Cruz Davis return if Wagner doesn't portal.

Played mostly PG at Hofstra this past season, knows Pitino's system and demands, has decent size, can make open 3s to keep the defense honest. If options really are slim I wouldn't be shocked if Rick brings in a familiar experienced face to pair with Lewis.

Not saying I'd like it but we're not far away from this being a potential reality.

Moose’s guy

After diving in and thinking more about it, I have mentally talked myself into Cruz Davis and Acaden Lewis at this point.

Davis was needed to play more of a scoring role at Hofstra given he and Aranguren were their only decent players, and he still had a very respectable Assist rate without turning it over too much. If he's able to understand what his role would be here in terms of just being a steady hand that sets up his teammates and only shoots at the rim and wide open 3s (Shot 56% at the rim last year, a ghastly 24% from the midrange, almost 40% from 3) then I think he could actually work out fairly well.

Pair him as the experienced guy with Lewis who provides the raw talent and upside and hope Lewis progresses quickly and isn't playing like a Freshman come February and March. Still have Sim and maybe Jackson to play on the ball in a pinch if absolutely needed.

Obviously not the first or even second or third choices but I don't hate it.

Reasonable take, but hope a better option emerges.

You thought me saying Rick should knock on his dorm room was in jest?!?

If he had portaled he would have gotten plenty of HM looks. So not that crazy with all the things at play.

He would JUMP around the chance but the minutes just aren't there as opposed to being Hofstra's main man.

I wonder what he’d be worth to Speedy himself. I’m sure not enough to win a bidding war.
Even if it’s equal which I’m sure Hofstra can’t manage anyway, Davis would land in a much better spot after college getting decent minutes for a top 10ish team than he would being the leader scorer on a 17-14 CAA team

Adam Miller rs-sr entered on Monday, shot 42.9% from 3, plus he knows Sanon.

At this point, what other PG is available.

It's one year and Lewis will get some burn while learning.

Sanon, Miller, & Sellers deadly from 3

Cruz Davis???? Get out of here.

The board has officially jumped the shark in regards to pgs.

Our starting pg has not even entered the portal yet.

R-E-L-A-X
Really would be ironic if Davis is signed w/ ample minutes or another PG wigh similar #'s & team level.

Thdn we'll know for certsin MR wills the opposite into existence 😆

Just to put in perspective.

Of all these people:
Clayton, Kam, Small, Sears, Zeigler, Nembhard, Hunter, Ashworth, Johnson, Gus, Butler, Taylor, Johnson, Baldwin, Hepburn — no eligibility left

Harper, Uzan, Pettiford, Kasparas — already announced pros or returning

Burton, Bradley, Shalstad, Smith, Thornton — already said they’re returning

Stritz - Iowa
Gillespie - Tennessee
Dent - UCLA
Lowe - Kentucky
Wooley- Louisville
Lee - Florida

Tipsey is from Ames, so he’s not going anywhere.

Not saying anyone should panic or doubt staff. I still don’t want Dug. But, for those who say there will be more guys entering the portal, I say — who!
