Available Lead Guards

Could still end up getting a solid PG but now wonder if pushing for Silas and Malachi like UConn did would have been the right route. Probably would have precluded us from getting Sellers but not Jackson
Not whining, but from a risk management perspective, Malachi should have gotten serious consideration here. Like his brother, he overachieves, has great hoops instincts and leadership qualities. Oh well.

Here’s the stat pages for the guys left in portal

  • Hayden Gray - 3 steals over 40%3fg

  • Martin Somerville - freshmen

  • Terrance Ford

  • Devon Barnes - not interested sorry Dev.

I like Somerville. Took Umass-Lowell a few times in bets this past season because of him. Not familiar with Gray, but 3.1 steals has my attention.

I think Jayden Reid would have worked as well with the weapons we were going to be assembling around the PG.

It was obvious in October that there was an excellent chance of him portaling.

If we miss on Lee then options will be very limited. Tried to quickly go through some teams in between work meetings to see if there are any potential high level PGs that *might* still portal. There aren't many. Excluded any guys that have already publicly said they are returning to their current team. May have missed a couple, but think this pretty much covers it.

Tahaad Pettiford - Might go pro. Outside chance he enters portal, would have every team in the country throwing major bags at him
Anthony Robinson - No smoke here. Doubt he'll leave Mizzou
DJ Wagner - As we know
Des Claude - Rumors from Trilly he is going to portal. Not really a true PG and don't think he'd be a fit here

After that any PG we bring in is going to have serious questions as to whether they can lead a team to a final 4.

You didn’t tell me he was a lefty. But really sign me all the way up. A little more combo than pure but love the tape.

Hes visiting BYU and Florida state

Something about him reminds me of Ponds and Lovett.
One thing that makes you think he can do well at a better level is that he was the only non-senior in the top 8 in minutes. It's tough to beat out that many experienced players at any level. To average 13.6 and 3.7 looks even better through that lens.
