Team hasn’t hit yet. It’s frustrating but I believe the offense will take off.

Acuna does a lot even when he’s not hitting. Just don’t know how we fit him and Mauricio ultimately.
You can see him being a productive glue guy.
Compared to Baty Acuna is looking like well a competent player.
Not sure they love Mauricio as much as you do.
On top of that he’s “still” not playing in games. Originally they said mid March and then they said Mendoza “misspoke”. Then it became we are bringing him along slowly and he’s doing “some” “baseball activities”. His injury happened in November 2023?!. Point is I wouldn’t worry about Mauricio for awhile. More likely he’s playing at AAA. He hasn’t played in over a year so it’s gonna be some time.

That kid can flat out play. Whether he hits enough for average will likely be the only difference as to whether he becomes a star or not.
As soon as McNeil comes back they will send Baty back to Syracuse. Acuna should continue to play against lefties with hopefully McNeil giving us some production and make second base solid.
Assuming Vientos starts to play better, our biggest weakness is in CF.
Yea is there anything we can do to address CF short of acquiring someone? I’m not that knowledgeable on our farm system, is there anyone waiting in the wings that could come up and give it a shot?
Acuna can play CF. He did in the minors. I suspect he’s gonna get a crack at it.
I hope he can just get the OBP consistently up to .350+.
He is a threat to score anytime he's on a bag.
Gilbert is on a rehab assignment for St. Lucie and doing very well. He can play center and RF and should be back with AAA shortly.
Jett Williams is doing well for AA Binghamton but hasn't played outfield yet this year.
Acuna played 31 games of CF in AAA last year and a 3 over the winter in the Dominican. Would have to believe he's the option there once McNeil returns.
Jose Azucar is the AAA CF and will probably be who they move up today.

Let Marte play CF. You give up some range in exchange for professional at bats with some power. The increase in offensive production will be worth it.
Oh no. I would rather Nimmo in CF, and he cannot play there anymore.
Marte would be a horror show.

That’s fine. But if we’re looking at Siri/Tyrone then you’re likely signing up for the worst offensive production from the CF spot of any team in MLB.
He stole 16 bases last year in 17 attempts in a half season. I think he can move just fine to be a backup in CF. I don't think there is a physical reason he can't play CF when he's healthy -- he may be rusty tracking balls since he's only played like 3 games there since 2021.
