Gotta have a backup plan. By drop off after Lee.Respectfully, don’t think we’re spending 10 million dollars on a roster to be going with an unproven point guard from Delaware.

My adversary Moose implied yesterday that aggressive recruiters are adept at “encouraging” non portal guys to enter. Our outstanding roster & resources will be enticing to agents and players imo.The staff is bringing in a top PG, and it may be someone not even in the portal yet.
If my memory is correct, pasha had verbaled 2+ years ago to pitino at Iona, but didn’t go when CRP left. The kid from Delaware has a lot of potential (going to be a soph) and good size. Might be worth a shot if we can't get either Lee or Wagner
Pasha was recruited to Iona before he came to St. John’s. He then prepped a year and played a year at Delaware. I liked his game and got better as the season went along. Pitino has to be very familiar with him and must have made a decision already on any interest. Here are the remaining uncommitted PGs in ESPN’s latest top 100 transfer rankings:
25 - Lee
73 - Tre Holloman Michigan State
88 - Izaiah Pasha Delaware
90 - Tayton Conerway Troy
94 - Hayden Gray UC San Diego
I’d love Holloman at this point. Not sure if we would have interest in any of these players outside of Lee though.

Didn’t see this when I posted. I agree he has the potential to be a very good player. Honestly I think being the star at Delaware this year would set him up from two big portal years but what do I know.If my memory is correct, pasha had verbaled 2+ years ago to pitino at Iona, but didn’t go when CRP left.
Then wanted to follow pitino here to St. John’s, but we didn’t offer. Strong connection ?
We need 2 PGs, I’d be very happy w him as 2nd
I totally understand how things work now, and it doesn't bother me we're trying to do this. But imagine if we were on the other end of that and someone pulled one of our guys into the portal. A modern day Doug Wiggins situation I guess??My adversary Moose implied yesterday that aggressive recruiters are adept at “encouraging” non portal guys to enter. The punishment for having a bad coach has never been harsher.I totally understand how things work now, and it doesn't bother me we're trying to do this. But imagine if we were on the other end of that and someone pulled one of our guys into the portal. A modern day Doug Wiggins situation I guess??
Am sure we have been. You either play the game or not be a contender in “no rules or consequences era” Some sense of sanity has to be restored though.I totally understand how things work now, and it doesn't bother me we're trying to do this. Teams still try to do it all the time. We wouldn't like it as fans of course. But that’s part of the deal now.I totally understand how things work now, and it doesn't bother me we're trying to do this. Good one, I see he is visiting Seton HallBarrington Hargress intrigues me. Just completed Soph year. At UC Riverside. Was conference POY. ROY last year. Their last PG did similar and went to Florida and is now teetering between NBA and G league.
We were mentioned with Hargress immediately and only visit he’s made is Colorado. Looks like a bowling ball. Takes contact. Good shot.
Looks great ! Fast down the court , tough driver to the basket, and a quick release on his jump shot, whether at mid or long range! Videos never show passing ability though.Barrington Hargress intrigues me. Just completed Soph year. At UC Riverside. Was conference POY. ROY last year. A reminder on Pasha is that he committed to Pitino at Iona before CRP took the St Johns Job. After that he decommitted and switched to Deleware.Respectfully, don’t think we’re spending 10 million dollars on a roster to be going with an unproven point guard from Delaware.
Oops. Didn't realize how long the thread was. Sorry for dupe comments.A reminder on Pasha is that he committed to Pitino at Iona before CRP took the St Johns Job. After that he decommitted and switched to Deleware.
Allegedly Pitino and Brown suggested he go the Prep route when they got to St. John’s and then there was radio silence. I don’t see either party having interest in each other. If my memory is correct, pasha had verbaled 2+ years ago to pitino at Iona, but didn’t go when CRP left.
