Keeping Up With Old Friends Thread

DC's senior season was one of the most pleasant surprises. Louie was gone, Sealy was gone, Buchanan was gone. DC was small and hadn't started or played much up to that point. Very good college PG. If Felipe would have had someone like him, Felipe's career would have been much different.
I wasn't expecting anything from that season either, so pleasant surprise is exactly right. Great guard play from Cain, excellent low post work from Shawnelle Scott- it added up to a fun season and the highlight of the Mahoney tenure.

Agreed. It was a fun year. I vividly remember David Cain slapping the gym floor at crunch time, imploring the team to D up. Great times, especially since it was unexpected. David Cain was a terrific player.

In the load management era, shoutout to Champ for playing all 82 regular season games. Last Johnnie to do that was Ron Artest in 2010-11 with the Lakers. Incidentally Mark Jackson did it 7x and Chris Mullin 4x.
I'm surprised Mullin did it thar often, given his many injuries throught the course of his NBA career. Then again, he was in the league for a long time.
