2024-25 Season

Someone posted a chart of margin of defeat with SJU at the top recently, After eyeballing that chart there was another fact displayed which completely eluded me which adds to the success of this years SJU team. There is only one team in all of college basketball , Duke , that has lost less games than SJU , three to SJU s four.

I never got why, Marillac’s guy Ayo, followed Rick here, not opting for more PT elsewhere. Well shame on me, this guy back to back helped stopped the bleeding in first half of both Marquette & Creighton BE games. He really made crucial and timely plays to give us some momentum heading to second half of both battles.

Safely Rick knows more than me 🫣and I will never forget Ayo. Am sure Rick will set him up well overseas when the time comes.

Do you know how many years he has left after this one? One or two?

Love his passion for us. Tim Doyle being worried about what time our game is ? So weird
I see where he’s going. We’ve been playing sold out arenas now for a month straight. If we get a weird session in a bad location, it could be a half empty arena.

Seems unlikely - we’ll be in Providence for first two, and then sweet 16 are always packed even if we end up in Indianapolis.

Kind of had that @Butler. I fully expect a “hangover” type thing where it’s tied with 10 minutes in the first half.

But, this team isn’t capable of sleepwalking for two full halves. Their defense is too intense, too veteran laden and too talented

Yeah I forget if he officially redshirted for 2023

I was at the DePaul game in Chicago where Ayo started in place of RJ. Ricky Marsh, your fellow Manhattan College alum could not believe that Ayo was only averaging 1 point a game. Ayo is a testament to the fact that hard work pays off. If you watch the bench during games, Ayo is always the first on up to cheer on his teammates. Not sure what his motivation for following Pitino to St John's was but the young man seems happy in his role and has definitely contributed when called upon this season. Much respect for the way he conducts himself as a player and teammate.
