Around the Big East

I wouldn’t be surprised if Nova made a run at Kevin Willard. Seems like a big East coach and would thrive there with novas NIL

It needed to happen, hopefully they get the next hire right, and hopefully Neptune lands on his feet at a lower level and has some success
Could see him doing similar to Lavall Jordan and latching on to a different BE staff for a few years.

Could make the argument for Maryland being the better job. Seems like he’s got them going now and would be a weird time to change it up. Just my opinion.

Unless on hot seat, very few BE jobs I can see any B10 or SEC leaving conf for given direction power conf going next few years
Big State schools have a huge financial edge for Coaches. My guess is if Maryland wants Willard Nova would be pressed to match dollar for dollar.

Maryland is still a second class citizen in the Big Ten. In the near term Nova is the better job. Long term who knows.

Obviously all my opinion. All I posted was that I could see Nova making a run at him. Test the waters
College GameDay also mentioned Willard. Interestingly they also mentioned Shaka Smart but then quickly added he’ll tell them he’s very happy at Marquette.

Hopefully they do not hire Speedy and he remains in the mix as a Pitino successor.

Maybe Nova has someone in mind but it feels to me like "we know Neptune isn't the guy so we need to fire him, now it's coaching search time"

Highly doubt Speedy in mix, imo they will have more proven guys.

With imminent portal period, Nova will act quickly and suspect they already have someone in mind, who they already had under radar talks with.

Rumored names to watch for the Villanova head coaching job:• Ryan Odom - VCU• Richard Pitino - New Mexico• Chris Collins - Northwestern

Uninspiring list if you ask me.

Every team has its vulnerabilities. Creighton is very well coached, but their PG depth behind Ashworth is non existent. He was completely worn out and had no shooting legs. He is essential to their two man game w Kalk and organizing their offense. Compare that to SJU with two quality lead guards and ability to have Sim man the point if need be. (time for Sim to wake up btw) Our five spot bench also is better than Creighton’s, as shown when King came in to give Kalk a breather and was overwhelmed & yanked immediately.

I think these inequities make Creighton very iffy in the Dance and bodes well for our success there. Add in our prime conditioning, tenacity, relentless play & Rick and I anticipate a nice run.IMG_0693.jpeg
