So after a week of hearing “Yukon is back…” we’ll be playing Creighton for the Big East Title. Makes sense.

Creighton has played two late games that went to the wire. SJU has played easier games at an earlier time. Creightons big ,Kalk, has had stamina problems and a third game in three nights is going to be tough. Playing against the energizer bunny , Zuby will be a major challenge.
Expect a lot of bench time for Kalkbrenner. Advantage SJU.

Should be locked into 2 but I can see them putting us at 3.
I think we’re 80% locked into a 2 seed.
Per alumni relations Feile right next to Stouts on 33 St off of Seventh is BET HQ for the Johnnies. Same owner as Stouts. Alum. !

I agree. Any concern that if Maryland beats Michigan State today and wins Big Ten title tomorrow and we were to lose to Creighton they might challenge us (or Michigan State) for a 2 seed?

As the No.1 seed the Johnnies now have a 7-1 record.
Against the No.2 seed, we are 4-6
In the BE finals we are 3-2
Never officially met Creighton in BET, but led them at halftime 38-35 in the quarterfinals before game was called due to Covid pandemic in 2020

Big worry with this because of the Committee’s anti Big East anti Catholic school bias. Watch NC get in over X for the same reason even though their record is terrible like Texas’s is too.

Should be a battle. I think Creighton gives us the best fight as opposed to any of the other schools, and not just because the beat us (barely), so buckle up.
Have to defend Kalk and Ashworth. If we go a decent job of those 2 things, we’re crowned.

I also don’t really care if we’re a 2 or 3. I guess it’s an easier second round game in theory but I’m fine either way

Definitely the worst defensive matchup for us in the league as any type of elite rim protector will give us fits. Won the shot volume battle by 11 and 17 in the two games this year which is absurd, but both games were super close.
Creighton had some very clever press busters prepared for us last game but we need to keep the pressure up. Absolutely have to turn them over as much as possible
