Kalkenbrenner was mauled on nearly every move to the hoop but , no calls ?

Miller on Creighton is likely visiting a Dentist this morning after the Rivera elbow to the jaw . Yet , they called the foul on Miller ?

While it was hard think it should have been no call either way The elbow was not swung or used as a weapon just hard incidental contact. I do not want the game to become one for wimps

Agree it wasn’t intentional but , a foul is still a foul , isn’t it ?

Otherwise you could say all fouls were unintentional .

Before or after the play , fouls are routinely called .

It was just a terrific blow to his jaw , knocked him out of game and maybe Concussion protocol .

Just my opinion . I did blow my whistle at home though and called it a flagrant 1 .

Pitino commented about how little Red was in the stands for our game Vs Butler .

Then , he asked how many Tickets each school gets . Who ever was sitting next to him said” 300. “


Is that about right ? Which means only 3-4000 tickets go to the Schools in Total .


The rest go to the Ticket Brokers or , the Garden itself ?

As for tonight’s game , Marquette had to go all out to beat Xavier and that has to weigh on them physically .

Zuby has to be more a factor again than he was Vs Butler and we have to wear out Jones on both , offense and defense .
Can’t let him get to the hoop so easily or , make those long 3’s .

He almost always goes left and that shouldn’t be a surprise to whoever guards him .

And ,please let’s not have Scott on the bench within the first 5 minutes of the game with 2 fouls .
Hope Smith can contribute , despite the shoulder .

The 3 other teams in the doubleheader Butler, Marquette and Xavier all have blue as at least one of their colors and with even ticket distribution that is why there was more blue than red yesterday.

Yes it was a foul and it was called in the right person, Miller for hitting Rivera as Rivera was making a move. That was the fouled called and it was correct. I didn’t want to go there but if Miller doesn’t body him, hit across his arm causing his face to be where it was, he doesn’t get hit in the face. You call would have been wrong and the replay was conclusive.

Makes no sense. It's a contact sport.

Completely agree and I thought the same thing while I was watching. Just because Miller unfortunately got his face in the way of Rivera's arm while fouling Rivera with his own arm does not mean the foul is on Rivera. Absolutely the right call there

We’ve been in this group, but Big East really needs Villanova and Georgetown to be nationally relevant.

Neptune seems like a nice guy but not cut out for this at this juncture in his career.

I'm expecting Georgetown to be very good next year, will be Cooley's 3rd year.

That’s not what I saw but , a few of opinions seem counter to mine . Which is ok .

All I can say is Rivers’s left arm came up and clobbered Miller under his chin .

All I’m saying is flagrant fouls have been whistled for much less than this one .

Would you agree that 2 fouls could have been called ? One on Miller , one on Rivera .

Rivera had a great first half ,not so much in the
Second half .

So the trivia last night was how many BE coaches played in the BE (or it might have been played for a BE Team or in the BET but it was along those lines).

The answers were 2, 3, and I think 4 or 5.

I could only think of Holloway and Hurley.

The board asserted that the answer was 3. I believe they were including Matta, but when he played for Butler they were not in the Big East.

Am I missing someone or were they wrong and the correct answer is 2 (unless we are just pretending all of the current teams were original members (which by the way would not include Villanova, little know fact there for some)?
