Around the Big East

So I’ve met and had some discussions with BE fans from other school. One thing I found fascinating is that apparently the bloom has fallen of the rose that is Kim English and the honeymoon appears to be over. Several PC fans just don’t like him.

I spoke to a St. John’s fan who went to George Mason while he coached there who was happy that he left. Other fans don’t like his know it all attitude and stubbornness. Quite frankly I was surprised.
Incessant whiner & excuse maker.
Hope Kimmy enjoys sucking on a 20 loss season and playing in the minimum number of post season games ONE. 🙂

I think they move on from him after next season if results stay same.

I don't dispute anything you said but one caveat I would offer...a couple of friends are PC alums and there may be no fanbase more disconnected from the reality of what their program is or can accomplish than these folks. Especially in the NIL world we now live in. These guys spent years knocking the balls off Ed Cooley, who probably got about as much out of that program as you can possibly get.

English has not covered himself in glory this season with his behavior, and that could certainly rub people the wrong way. But I wonder how much of people's discontent is a product of unrealistic expectations. Especially after losing an all league player for 1.5 seasons.

English only does 2 things well—One is not coaching, another is not post game press conferences.

Wow, Kim only giving me 45 minutes before disproving my theory. Ouch!

Always fun to chat with BE fans from other schools. Today I met a real unicorn - a cocky DePaul fan!

Walked in with him and congratulated him on beating Georgetown. He said “wasn’t here last night, went to see Glegarry Glen Ross. Figured I would wait until we played Creighton tonight.”

That says more about Georgetown than it does about DePaul.

A cocky DePaul fan, huh? He must've been in a coma since '87.
