2025 Portal

I got no inside info on Gwath but this article came out yesterday. I actually think him rising draft boards wouldn't shock me. But, him giving no assurances to returning makes me think..... He would be a massive get.

“Magoon is everything we hoped he would be, and now we have to keep him on that path.”

Will that path run through Montezuma Mesa next season?
“Right now, I’m looking more towards trying to get to the pros,” Gwath said in his first media availability since injuring the knee Feb. 22 at Utah State.

Asked if he considers himself ready for the NBA or needs another year of development in college, he said: “I guess we’ll have to find out.”

Teammate Miles Byrd, who made second team all-conference as well as the all-defensive team, has also said he’ll test the draft waters this spring but will play at SDSU next season – and not enter the transfer portal – should he return to college.

Gwath offered no such pledge Tuesday. His priority of first receiving NBA feedback, then, likely will push a decision about any college future into April or May."

Would have to think Gwath would be drafted this year in the first round. Sign me up if he isn't. Outrageous ceiling.

Well an Arkansas Guard from area hit Trilly’s portal list but not the one we all think.

DJ Wagner added to his list. Wouldn’t be surprised if we’re in the mix there.

Braden Huff from Gonzaga also added. Surprising. He’s gonna be a big get

Wagner has to escape Cal. He's not getting better there.

Haven't been the biggest DJ Wagner fan watching him play the past couple seasons. Takes some mind numbingly bad shots far too often, not much of a playmaker for a guy with the ball in his hands so much, and doesn't make an impact on the defensive end. Definitely some talent there though and I guess it would make sense here given what we need. Much better than Kerr Kriisa at least

I bet you Sha forks over half his salary to get that kid to come back to NJ and try to save his job.

And I'm not sure that would be worth it.

A very familiar name who had a poor end to his year

I was looking at his numbers last night. Clearly something happened over the course of the season to put him in the outhouse with the staff. He went from never playing less than 20 mpg through mid January to playing 5 minutes or less in their final 5 games. Not surprised he's leaving.

Lines up closely with Enright going down. I like him, but I think we need to aim higher now. I would actually advise him to go to a JUCO for a year to play PG. That is where I see most of his value. I'd be willing to reconsider him after that year.

Looking forward to this season's Nicholas Timberlake Award given annually to the obscure mid-major player who becomes the hottest portal commodity in the nation for reasons not quite known.
Timberlakes highlight video from Towson was pretty exciting tbh…
