@Butler, Wed., Feb. 26 , 9p, CBSSN

lol you play who you play in the tournament. What does it matter if it’s sweet 16 or elite 8? The rest could be valuable in the long run.
Tournament is all about match-ups after the first round. That 4/5 game terrifies me because we can really get screwed in that game with a big front court. 3/6 (or 11 seed, which happens more likely) makes the odds very different.

We can dictate who we play. Again, we have five full days off before the Marquette game. At some point, too much rest throws a team out of their rhythm.

I never complain about officiating because I know there will be plenty of bad calls but though particularly tonight refs let Butler get away with banging our guys around which affected some plays, they weren't of the no harm no foul type calls.
On consecutive possessions they called a phantom foul on us against McCaffrey and then put whistle away when Luis got manhandled driving to basket.

To play on this defensive oriented team, you better have quick feet, concentration, instincts & ability to recover quickly. Sadly Vince can’t check any of those boxes. Not ripping a great guy I’m sure, just giving my opinion of his D deficits.
His biggest deficiency is concentration. The other things can be worked on.
Once he touches the ball his "instinct" is to score. Making the extra pass is still not in his game.

Sorry. Referring to BET seeding. We have clinched a tie at worst for BE regular season. We currently hold the seeding tiebreaker over Creighton. Even if we lost both games we are the one seed unless nova somehow finishes ahead of both UConn and Xavier in final standings.

I am not 100% sold on Duke. Great metrics but conference is horrible, and I want to be in their region if we want to go to the Final Four.. probably almost no chance against Auburn.
Auburn is the only team I could understand people being nervous of

But we have Rick F'ing Pitino. Anyone could lose on any given day but I'm rolling with Rick and think we have a shot against anyone

Only thing I'm nervous of is making travel plans every week

Vince doesn't fit with the rest of the team in terms of identity. We run out 5 guys that can switch seamlessly except for when Vince is out there. And since we rely on our defense to create offense him being out there hurts.

The other issue I have is for a guy who is 7-1, he doesn't seem to be an effective rebounder. And since we rely on our rebounding to create second chance points and quick transitions to offense him being out there hurts.

The final issue I have is that he never passes the ball when he gets it anywhere below the free throw line. If he is close to the basket then great, but if he is 6 or 7 feet out then he will miss. And since we rely on scoring to create offense him being out there hurts.

Vince, if you read this I'm sorry. I'm sure you are a great young man, but the above is my opinion.
He was covering Kapke chest to chest 6 feet from the 3 pt line at one point. Kapke is a 27% shooter and 52% from the line. Why?

I could live with the lack of coordination, but the constant mental errors and playing like he’s 5’11 I can’t take.

He’s competent on offense. I’ll give him that, but his next pass will be his first.

We talk about confidence here and then crap our pants over being a 4-seed versus a 3-seed. It makes no sense to me, but I’m probably showing my no analytics, old ass. You play who you play, and rested and healthy I’ll take those odds against anyone.
